From start to finish my husband and I have had an extremely positive experience with the CCRM team. Dr.Zhou, Allie, and the full team with CCRM are wonderful. The front desk team as well as the nursing staff are always so welcoming. The whole team is very thorough in proactively making sure you understand what is happening at every step of your journey, providing options when they are available, and is compassionate throughout.Unlike some reviews I see, I found my care team to always be very responsive through the Salve app and by phone when needed. You do not see your doctor every visit, but you do for the important ones. With so many women coming in every morning for blood draws and ultrasounds it just does not make sense that you would see your doctor for this every time. It’s much faster to have those periodic checks done by the staff available and I personally appreciated that and being able to get to my work day early consistently (always 7:30am appointments) instead of the nightmare it would be to schedule to see your specific doctor every single day (when doing daily or every other day appointments).I’ll add that, due to the timing being so sensitive for egg retrievals/transfers, it is not guaranteed that all of your procedures will fall on your doctor’s working days. The CCRM team prioritizes what will lead to the highest chance of a success outcome instead of scheduling for a day and time that your doctor is available. I personally was okay with this. Dr.McKnight performed my egg retrieval and I had a positive experience with her. Dr.Zhou performed my transfer and was fantastic as always.I’d recommend this team to anyone starting their fertility journey!Context: My husband and I came to CCRM for IVF and into my first pregnancy.
We booked a consultation with Dr. McKnight. She is very knowledgeable and patient with us. She explained IVF process very clearly and answered all my questions. The whole team is nice, from front desk to nurses. I recommend this place.
My experience was generally positive with the provider, who was exceptional in their expertise and provision of supportive and compassionate care. There are however notable areas for significant improvement, particularly in the check-in process. As I was being called in by the medical assistant, I was unexpectedly asked to make a payment right before entering to see the provider. This was awkward and embarrassing and should have been handled more professionally.Additionally, the third-party nurse and counselors appear to be non responsive (by phone and on the salve app). Improving staff training during check in with better communication and timing and addressing 3rd party nurse /counselor responsiveness could significantly boost patient satisfaction and foster a more welcoming environment.
Dr. McKnight was amazing. She and her nurses are thoughtful, caring, and knowledgeable. This was the best care I have ever received from a doctor or clinic. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend CCRM and Dr. McKnight.
For the first time in four years of our IVF journey, I feel heard. Dr. Zhou is very knowledgeable, empathetic, and she explained everything so clearly and thoroughly. When you’re going through something so personal and difficult, you want to know that you have the best doctors and care team on your side. You want to feel like you aren’t another number or cash cow to them. Dr. Zhou and CCRM have already made us feel welcomed and supported. We feel as though our IVF experience matters and they’re there to help every step of the way. I’m so happy we switched, I know it will be more ups and downs, but I’m confident we have found the right people to move us forward each time. I look forward to finally getting off of this wild roller coaster ride.
Dr Beth and her team truly are amazing. Infertility can be stressful but the support they over truly helps make it less stressful. I’ve never felt so seen and heard. I know I will be able to work through this with this amazing team. I highly recommend.
I was a CCRM patient four years ago for egg freezing. At the time I signed my agreement with CCRM, I was shown the costs I would pay for storage for the next 5 years. The first year was included in the cost, but after year 1 the annual costs were shown to increase from the $300 range up to $500 or so over the 5 year timeframe. After my first included year, I received a bill for the second storage year for approx. $600. I contacted CCRM and after getting the run-around for weeks I finally got ahold of someone who informed me that my paperwork had been lost and the person who completed it was no longer with CCRM, but that storage wasn’t part of the contract I’d signed and I’d be subject to the increased rate. Last week I received the bill for my fourth year of storage. The bill has now increased to $1250 per year with the explanation of “space” and “regulation changes.” I have called and left a voicemail and sent multiple emails to CCRM about my options and no one has responded. I feel this clinic is taking advantage of vulnerable patients, many of whom are struggling to conceive or trying to preserve their facility at a very high expense, by painting an entirely unrealistic picture of the future costs and then exploiting patients at outrageously higher rates. When I’ve tried to reach CCRM about alternatives I’ve gotten no response. When I selected CCRM, I intended to store my eggs there for the long haul. I sincerely regret my decision at this time. Highly recommended you explore other options.
Dr. McKnight and her team are excellent! They have been so helpful during our entire fertility journey. They are great at answering all of our questions and explaining the processes thoroughly. If I could I would give them more stars!
All I can say or what I will indicate here is nothing that CCRM is not aware of. The reviews show the same issues:- You never see your assigned Doctor. They aren’t even apart of the process.- The communication is terrible in their app. There are messages that sit there beyond their assigned SLA time. The Administrative staff is horrible (Billing, Financial Counselors, Pre Authorization) and sometimes Nurses- Their process is done through communication via the app and not explained properly particularly for IVF and all the calendars they release for this process. Many times they will not call you to explain things.- They treat patients like number and don’t care. They really don’t care when you’re doing IUI - they want you to pay the money for IVF. You never see a doctor once during IUI- The Fertility clinics in the area are similar and as bad as this.- The only time you get a smile and a thank you is when you’re paying in full or paying a balance. The only effective thing in this clinic is when it’s time to pay money.- The Practice Manager they reference in all their responses to call - NEVER takes calls. So if they put that underneath this review then that’s a lie. She is never available- They take advantage of women needing to have children and charge outrageously. From freezing and storing eggs to their entire process. If you want to proceed - remember these thing in summary:Bad CommunicationNo Doctor involvement (but their names all over the claims)You’re not attended to in a timely manner but at their discretion and timingA bunch of outrageous charges that don’t make sense and no one explainsThere is no escalation for issues. They tell you to call the same number on their Google as they do for appointments and everything else. No one answers and when they do - they don’t transfer the call to no one but a voicemail.Good luck!
We love CCRM and Dr. Hickman. He was professional and knowledgeable. CCRM was essential to our family. Thank you.
The entire crew at CCRM Houston is amazing. So grateful for all of them. We’ve had nothing but 5-star experiences through the entire journey.
This was my first time visiting CCRM (Gessner location) and I must say that the staff goes above and beyond to keep you feeling like you are their number one patient.Everyone from the front desk staff, to Dr. McKight, to the phlebotomist who took my blood samples was such a job to work with.I felt seen, heard, and appreciated. This is what healthcare needs and CCRM is definitely doing it right!
I think this company gets over on people ignorance. I will say this company is only out to get money and they make recommendations that were not needed. So one of the main vitamins a women needs during Ivf cycle is vitamin d. never once did the doctor ever look to see that my levels were super low and would hurt my egg quality. There was a large number of unnecessary visits required. The doctors are never there or at least they always have something better to do. The treatment plans are aggressive and don’t even give your eggs time to mature. When I order my medication I Purchased what they told me which was well over what I needed. I ended up tossing half of the medication out and I still have some now I spent 10,000. When I went in for egg transfer the new doctor was rude and acted like he was ready to go. There are a million reasons for why u shouldn’t use this company. The worst part is I truly felt alone and told the team I was experiencing major depression. The team told me that is not the doctor job to help with the depression. Please guys if you are reading this pick someone Else and don’t go with aspire that company is just as bad. That got 20, 000 dollars and they are still asking for money. Even though charge for things that didn’t happen. Ivf is only company in the world that makes the patient pay for failure it’s like the 9th cycle of hell. Ccrm is a hellscape where the doctors walk around in nice 1000 dollar shoes and prey on weak people.
McKnight is a nightmare. Switched to Hickman and had heard great things, even worse. He made me feel like I needed to see an ER. They killed my dreams of being a mom, I cannot face even going to the Dr now. McKnight however will greet you with her Audi cup in hand and give you false hopes to get your insurance payout. Scam artist at best and insensitive.
Not even sure where to begin on describing my experience with CCRM. They made what is usually a difficult experience into a fantastic one. They are top tier at communicating effectively, and acting quickly on delivering results that we so anxiously have to wait for in IVF. When you go to CCRM, from the very beginning you can see that you are in the BEST care possible in this industry. The front desk staff, all of the ladies who care for us in the clinic, the surgery center staff, my nurse Judy, and of course Dr. Hickman are the reason for such an amazing experience. If you are in need of a fertility clinic I would highly recommend CCRM for industry leading care.
I regret to say that my experience with CCRMs egg retrieval process was extremely disappointing and fell far short of my expectations.Firstly, the entire experience felt impersonal and purely transactional. Despite my initial excitement to work with Dr. McKnight, I was disheartened to only meet her twice throughout the entire process. Even more alarming was the fact that she didnt perform my procedure, a fact that was never communicated to me beforehand. Imagine meeting a male doctor the day of and feeling very lost, confused and alone.Furthermore, the lack of interaction with my assigned nurse (we only communicated via phone) left me feeling like a complete stranger at every visit. In an experience as sensitive and emotionally charged as this, the absence of a personal connection only added to my discomfort and sense of isolation.I took the time to express my concerns directly to Dr. McKnight through a letter, urging her to take necessary steps to prevent other women from experiencing the same sense of detachment and frustration. Every woman deserves a supportive and compassionate team during such a vulnerable journey. As a result of my negative experience, I have made the decision to transfer to a different network for my fertility needs. I eagerly anticipate working with a team that prioritizes empathy and understanding, qualities that were sorely lacking in my time at CCRM.
The level of disorganization and lack of attention to detail at this clinic is extremely concerning, and quite frankly unacceptable. Personally, I would not trust them to perform any kind of procedure on me, much less something as serious or as a fertility treatment. As a clinic who is in the business of offering fertility treatment, I would (at the very least) expect this operation to be managed properly.I witnessed a sister of mine go through *multiple* appointments where she was given incorrect information, followed by the staff miscommunicating and overlooking important notes on her medical record. The clinic’s absolute negligence lead to a mistake during her procedure which severely decreased her chances of becoming pregnant during the process.I am appalled for her.God willing this clinic puts a halt on performing anymore medical procedures irresponsibly.
I went here for IUI upon the recommendation of my OBGYN. Like others have stated, the billing is really difficult. The main reason I’m rating them as average is because a tech overlooked a latex allergy listed on my chart and inserted a latex condom when checking my ovaries. I had an allergic reaction and no one was understanding in the office (they didn’t have anything on hand ie Benadryl) I had them print off my intake paperwork and it was listed on there. It was also in my chart, she had just overlooked it. During my first apt, they checked me and I also let them know of my allergy, it took them over 10 minutes to find a latex-free cover. My second IUI was ultimately successful and I have a beautiful baby boy, but the lack of attention to detail was/is concerning.
I transferred here from another IVF clinic, Aspire, and boy, what a difference of care! Aside from their amazing physicians they have amazing front nurses, who really are most of your points of contact throughout the process. I had Courtney as my nurse and I literally cannot say enough good things about her. She was always prompt with her responses and eased my heart and worries along the whole process. You cannot put a price of good care like this when you’re going through something as hard as IVF and I am forever grateful to this office and to Dr McKnight and Courtney for holding my hand and giving me my miracle baby! We love love love this office!
Our experience at this fertility clinic was extremely disappointing. Instead of providing support and clarity during our IUI, they only added to our stress and confusion. Despite prior notifications about my husbands sample being dropped off months ago, they seemed completely unaware of its whereabouts on the day of the procedure. This chronic disorganization extended to their billing practices, where we were given false hope about IVF coverage, only to be told later that we didnt have it. Even as a healthcare professional myself, I found this level of disorganization completely avoidable.Furthermore, Dr. Hickman, is clearly very intelligent, but he did not seem prepared during our appointments, despite repeated reminders about my medical history. This lack of attention to detail was frustrating and concerning. Additionally, we had to repeatedly send documentation, such as my husbands original SA results, which were consistently overlooked.During the IUI process, there were further issues, including the need for my husband to drop off his sample twice without being informed of the additional cost each time. The inconsistency in recommendations, such as advising us to use all three vials of sperm but only using two during the procedure, was particularly distressing and left me in tears. During the IUI the 2 vials of his sample meant his count was lower than what is recommended and the 3rd vial would have increased the count to recommended levels. Why not use the 3rd vial when you are the one who recommended it? They admitted at the appointment that it was a “miscommunication” Imagine being on the table nude from the waste down and hearing they made a mistake right before the IUI. I was devastated. It almost felt like they wanted us to fail so we can come back again to use the final vial of sperm.Overall, the disorganization and lack of communication at this clinic have turned what should have been a hopeful journey into a complete nightmare. I strongly advise others to avoid this place.
Awesomeness in all ramifications!!!! Dr Kudesia and The whole team were really nice and friendly.. and the process was swift and fast!!! Thank you so much guys!
Dr. McKnight and her staff were very kind and knowledgeable. They made us feel very comfortable with the process and treatment options.
I feel so blessed and grateful to have CCRM in Houston. Wonderful doctor and staff. IVF is emotionally and physically draining but knowing that I can trust CCRM has made the journey much easier. I learned to let go and let them guide the process, which has made it much better for me in the end. I highly recommend this clinic, especially Dr. McKnight!
Dr.McKnight is amazing as well as her full staff. They are always so welcoming, nice and understanding.
I’ve had a wonderful experience at CCRM Houston! Dr Hickman and his staff have made this process a little bit more easier for my husband and I! Dr Hickman is one of the best doctors we’ve come to know! Thank you for everything everyone has done for us to achieve pregnancy! I want to thank Lynn Menzies for her guidance and expertise in the financial aspect. She was extremely kind, patient and explained our options thoroughly. We are grateful for everything and everyone!
We really liked the doctor/nurses and wished we could have moved forward, but after repeated reasons summarized below, we ended our relationship before moving into an IVF cycle.-The entire process with the CCRM financial dept felt like it was done half-way. IVF is covered by my insurance (we had done 4 previous rounds at a different clinic, and after we moved from CCRM we were again approved (within 2 weeks), while they said we were denied)-If we were to pay out of pocket and try to appeal, we don’t have much confidence that their financial department can provide us adequate support for the things they say they’ve submitted that would allow us to make an appeals case-Zero correspondence with them until we learned we were denied-We received conflicting information from the CCRM financial group and insurance on what was submitted and whenI don’t know if CCRM has a different set of priorities for their patients but this disorganized approach has set us back to the point where we didn’t have any faith in their practice. It’s hard to pay a practice this amount of money for a procedure that’s far from guaranteed when you don’t feel like they are doing everything they can to have your back when you need it.
Worst patient care. It’s only $ to them.Update: Do not come here. They will keep asking for money. They do not talk about how to change protocols for failed IUI. Their messaging service says 24 hours but really it’s 2-3 days for any response. Once I questioned the amount of money because it was more than what we were told, suddenly we found out we had given them a surplus of money. None of which was applied to the next step of IVF. I decided to leave this quack fertility center and wanted my refund. I was told 4-5 weeks. Well again 6 weeks go by and nothing until I told them I was going to take legal action. A day later I got my refund. Next I needed my records and again to get my own medical records I had to say I was going to take legal action. No one here cares and they are only looking to take advantage of innocent families looking for help. Stay far away.
Dr. Hickman was our saving grace. We owe him and his wonderful team of nurses so much. We are so grateful to have found CCRM
The absolute best. Super kind, super knowledgeable, super transparent communication. Love Dr McKnight!!
Everyone seemed nice, but i have been over charged for just the consultation and some blood work.
CCRM has been a true blessing to us! Our journey started back in 2019! We had 3 failed IUI’s but on the first try of IVF, God blessed us with our first sweet baby boy! He’s now 2 and brings us joy beyond the moon! We went back this year for baby number 2 and to our surprise the embryo transfer didn’t take completely shocked since first round worked for us. Dr. McKnight was beyond comforting and supportive. Of course a million thoughts go through your mind of what you did wrong. Well on the second IVF embryo transfer it worked but God had another plot twist! Our 1 embryo transfer split and so now we are pregnant with identical twins! Again beyond shocked but, we are beyond blessed and we are extremely thankful to the CCRM staff but most importantly Dr. McKnight for helping to make this happen for us! We love you and may God continue to bless you to help other families experience the joy we have been blessed to receive!
We came to CCRM because of two blighted ovums from natural pregnancies. From the first time I walked in, I was impressed that we talked to Dr. Hickman for a lengthy period of time, and not a nurse. He was very helpful in answering our questions, and we were able to run tests to see if we could find out why I was having recurrent losses. Ultimately, the tests showed that everything was fine, so we kept trying for a year with no success. We then moved to IUIs. We had 3 unsuccessful IUIs, which ultimately led to IVF. I was very nervous because I only had a small number of follicles, but I loved that Dr. Hickman tried to think of every possibility for getting them (my ovaries were not cooperative). My nurse, Holly, was THE BEST. I was reassigned to a nurse when they were short-staffed when they returned during COVID-19, and I saw Holly in the hallway and asked if I could have her back. She was so attentive, so quick to answer questions, and went above and beyond to help me get a $500 refund from the pharmacy. I cannot say enough good things about her. My complaints about CCRM would be very small, not worth even mentioned, except that I wish the sonographers and nurses introduced themselves. I had people that I loved interacting with whose names I never knew or finally had to ask someone.
Update: I had a great consultation with Dr.Hickman. I was told someone would contact me about cost and coverage. It’s been a few days and I have not heard anything. The first time we went through this process it was great. I shouldn’t have to keep reaching out to spend my money. Such a bummer because I really likeDr. Hickman.I’m not sure what happened to this place. I’m a former patient when this place was Houston IVF. I’ve tried a few times to make an appointment and can’t seem to get anyone to answer. I tried one last time today and finally spoke to someone and was transferred to the front desk and they hung up🤷🏾♀️. It’s weird I have to put this much effort into making an appointment. I had a wonderful experience the first time but I am not loyal to this place. The service has slipped, what a bummer.
Does anyone know what number/email should I call for a claim regarding incorrect billing? This is the second time Im trying to reach out to them regarding this amount they charged me. In one of these calls, CCRM admitted that I dont owe them anything. But they keep sending me these messages about a pending bill. Even when they say their billing team will fix it, they keep sending me messages about this bill. This is a nightmare...
I completed IVF exactly a year ago yesterday at Houston IVF and we have two healthy little girls. I had a great experience with Dr. McKenzie and my nurse Judy. No matter what clinic you go to a lot of the experience is based on what nurse you have and how you communicate with them. Although the Dr is VERY important, you have more one on one interaction on the phone with the nurse. Houston IVF is very strict on what you do and when as I am sure most clinics are and I followed it EXACTLY! There was always someone on call to answer late night questions which was great because I took a lot of my shots in the evening. If my husband and I decide to have another baby I would not hesitate to go there.
5 stars do not do Houston IVF justice! I wish I could give them 10 stars! I worked with Dr. Laurie McKenzie who was the most amazing doctor in the world. She was patient, caring and answered ALL of our many questions. The staff and nurses were so kind and wonderful. We never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. The IVF process was as easy as it could have been. Houston IVF was there for me anytime I needed them. From questions after hours to the phlebotomist being so thoughtful and patient with me, each person we came in contact with went out of their way to be sympathetic and kind. We have an 8 1/2 month old daughter that is an absolutely miracle thanks to God, Houston IVF and Dr. McKenzie. I have recommended so many of my friends to go to Dr. McKenzie and they have all had the same experience. . . they unanimously loved Dr. McKenzie and Houston IVF. I cannot say enough about this clinic and sweet Dr. McKenzie!
BEWARE. The authorization team/billing department will say/do anything to ensure you move forward with your specified procedure(s). Then have the nerve to surprise you with a huge bill after the fact all because they did not ACCURATELY relay insurance coverage information from the getgo. They have mislead me TWICE. I did receive assistance with the first issue but NEVER received a call back from Catalina for the second issue. I wish I had read the reviews that mentioned multiple people having issues with this facility before agreeing to move forward with my IUI. Will most definitely be looking to transition my fertility care to another more HONEST facility.
I am a breast cancer patient and was referred to Dr. Zhou by my Breast surgeon to look into fertility preservation. From the moment I stepped into the office, I felt very welcomed and the staff was very nice and friendly. Making the appointment was very easy and efficient and the wait time was less than 5 mins. The visit was very thorough and I felt heard by Dr. Zhou as I had few concerns regarding fertility preservations. She is an excellent doctor who was able to give me a detailed summary of what options I have, when to start etc. Basically in one visit we were able to create a future plan for fertility preservation once my body has healed from Chemotherapy after-effects.Overall, my experience with Dr. Zhou was amazing.
As a patient who was referred to this clinic for testing only, unfortunately I cannot recommend to others.Reasons summarized below, but in a nutshell - their billing and coding practices are VERY POOR and align to those paying out of pocket for treatment, NOT insurance paying for fertility testing.(1) It took them SEVEN MONTHS to even submit the bill to my insurance; so another 3-4 months of negotiations before a bill reached me to alert me that something was wrong and I needed to step in to try and resolve (keep in mind, insurance tends to shut the door on revising claims at 12 months post-service)(2) I have very good insurance, that clearly states it covers the testing I received via CCRM and was confirmed ahead of doing the test. The issue, you ask...? CCRMs coding practices are not standard, so documentation and coding from CCRM for what was clearly a test read to my insurance asIVF treatment related (not covered);(3) The above was addressed directly with CCRM who then gave me the documentation of it being covered by my insurance but then when contacted by my insurance, they refused to correct their coding mistake...despite being given documentation from my referring physician necessary to do so.(4) Then they just stopped answering/returning calls from both me and my insuranceLong story short, if youre referred here for infertility testing, and not treatment rethink it before going through this headache with them.
Ok so I wont lie in the beginning I was a little skeptical because I was adamant that I did NOT want to test my embryos yet I felt I was being pressured to do so. After much thought I gave in and said to heck with it may as well go for it. Lots of facilities are shying away from fresh transfers, but I was strong in that I wanted a fresh transfer and Dr. Hickman was OK with that. This was my 4th cycle with the other 3 taking place over 4 years ago at another facility. I dont know what Dr. Hickman did, but my results were UNBELIEVABLE and he was able to get me pregnant with a fresh untested embryo while my other 10 are off still being tested. My nurse Courtney is the absolute best ever. I am still in shock that it actually worked and cant thank CCRM, Courtney or Dr. Hickman ENOUGH!
UPDATE: after being assured two weeks ago, by the new financial director, that the bill for anesthesia had been taken care of, I just received a call from a COLLECTIONS AGENT trying to collect for that same bill. So, not only hasn’t it been handled, but now it is in collections. They were so much better before they became affiliated with CCRM. The drs are still wonderful, the admin/billing is sorely lacking. After a failed round of IVF, we got repeated collection calls from the anesthesiologist they used, and told us they would pay as part of the package. Months after it was all done, we were still getting calls that the anesthesiologist had not been paid. We paid everything up front. So why was this not taken care of? Why the consistent and painful reminder of our failure? I even sent them a letter with the bill we received, and our new address, requesting they take care of it and send us any money that was left from our failed round of IVF. Nothing. The collection calls from the anesthesiologist stopped a few months after that, so I assume they finally paid them. It’s a year later and we still have not gotten the balance due us from the failed round of IVF. No phone call. No letter. Nothing. Again, the drs and nurses are great! The admin and billing department leave a lot to be desired.
We were released today after a successful IVF cycle through Dr. Nodler and our nurse Elaine. I can’t say enough great things about everyone who works here. All calls and emails were retured quickly. I had a few follow up questions for Dr. Nodler before we started our cycle and couldn’t make it in to the office in time. He took the time to personally call me and awnser all my questions. Highly recommend CCRM Houston!
After three emotionally wrenching failed cycles at another clinic, we were ready to give up. We knew Houston IVF had great success rates, so we decided to try one cycle with them. Our beautiful son was born nine months later. Feeling like our family wasnt complete, we went back to them once more, and now have a beautiful daughter also. I know we were lucky to have two children from just two cycles, but the experience at Houston IVF was so much better than what we experienced previously. I was told previously that I was a poor responder, and our embryo quality was very poor. At Houston IVF, the quality was dramatically better, and the results were successful pregnancies. We loved our experience at Houston IVF. The office was great, the staff was enthusiastic, and Dr. Hickman is so talented and passionate about his work. Choosing Houston IVF was the best decision of our lives.
Dr Nodler performed my procedure and was very professional. The entire ccrm team is always receptive to my questions and concerns.
I can’t say enough great things about Dr. McKnight and every nurse who aided in our journey. With every facility you have to advocate for yourself, but CCRM goes above and beyond to support and provide the best experience! Absolutely recommend!
We are so thankful for CCRM Houston! We started our infertility journey in Colorado at the Lone Tree CCRM, but our work office closed and moved us to Houston. We were recommended to Dr Nodler from our previous dr. The transition was smooth and we had a great experience at CCRM Houston. We highly recommend Dr Nodler! The office staff and nurses is also all amazing to work with. At one point they helped us with an annoying insurance issue. We especially were fond of our nurse Erin. Our little one was born at the end of 2018! When the time comes, we will be back for baby number 2.
I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE! The front desk finds it difficult to perform simple duties, like sending their NEW patient the required forms before their visit or verifying insurance. Theyll require you come in with $200 if your coverage isnt verified and its because they choose not to verify it. Then, the day of appointment they waste your time driving there just to tell you that the Dr. is big on promptness and turns you away (forms require an hour to fill out)... The staff is extremely lazy and unprofessional and that office needs some reform. The biggest humor of it all was that the office was literally empty.
The clinic lacks patient care from the staff. I was told due to the high volume of patients they do not have the time to verify patients benefits at length. They also had the documentation to prove they did not properly inform me of the cost or out of pocket cost for some treatment. The clinic lacks diversity among the nursing staff. I had to beg for an apology yet you would think they would have given it therefore I would have used this clinic for IVF. Let’s just say we not using them for IVF going forward. Amanda the nurse was nice but cannot say the same for the other staff. I think they are in the business of IVF and not helping couples have babies.
Unorganized, unprofessional. Do not trust with your embryos. I was a patient of Houston IVF and Dr. Mackenzie (who was FANTASTIC), Dr. Hickmans former practice that merged with/was bought out by CCRM. THIRTEEN YEARS LATER I got a phone call from a collections agency claiming I owe them money. For what? Embryo storage. Well thats odd because after our twins were born, we asked that our embryos be destroyed. SO WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH THEM? Highly unprofessional. They had my phone number and email address and DID NOT REACH OUT TO ME in those ways before siccing a collections agency on me. They say they will clear out the owed money but I have to sign this form, get it notarized, etc. I am furious. No apology for this incredibly unprofessional treatment. I was put on hold to speak with a manager and then directed to leave a voice mail. No call back. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
Very disappointed by the lab staff. We paid to have some tests done ahead of a cycle which would determine the route we take. The staff failed to perform the testing and our timeline has been thrown off completely. The only response we received was “human error” How is this acceptable?!?Update: Dr. Hickman and his staff have been very patient and kind through our process. Happy to have them during our difficult journey.
I met with Dr. Laurie McKenzie and also saw her partner Dr. Hickman when I was considering in vitro treatment. I was thinking of using donated eggs. You can tell that they care very much about their patients. I had a consultation at two other practices out of state, and did not have the best experiences with them They met with me very briefly and were very dismissive about the questions I had. So I made the effort to travel to Houston to get yet another opinion. I was not disappointed. Dr. McKenzie was honest, direct and communicated very well with me. I ultimately chose not to move forward with the treatment, but I have to say it was a very positive experience at Houston IVF.
The medical staff are 5 stars but the billing departments repeated lies regarding medical coverage reduced my overall score. My wife and I initially consulted with CCRM back in February 2020. After several rounds of AI failed we moved forward to IVF. Dr Nodler did a great job during the initial consultation framing our expectations for the procedure. We were then assigned to Jerome who was our billing specialist. We communicated our concern for the high out-of-pocket cost for IVF and were assured on several occasions that our insurance covered the procedure, except for a few thousand dollars. Jerome further assured us that our insurance said they would almost completely cover the medications, minus a couple hundred dollars. Two days after the procedure, I was contacted by my insurance. They stated that the IVF procedure was not covered. They also stated that the medicine was not covered. We payed close to triple the insurance quote for the medicine alone. Then the fun started. Jerome refused to answer my phone calls and voicemails regarding the insurance issue.I then communicated the issue to his supervisor, Christine. She told me that Jerome and another 3rd party employee had confirmed insurance coverage on two separate occasions. She gave me reference numbers and the names of the insurance employees who confirmed. I then called the insurance company who had audio recordings of the calls. On both calls, insurance employees told Jerome that IVF was NOT covered.I then communicated this back to Christine and told her that we were not in a position to pay the bill I also told her it was not right since we had been quoted a drastically different number. She laughed at me when I told her this. When I told her I didnt think this was a funny issue she continued to chuckle and said that it was something else going on in the office that she was laughing at. She closed by telling me that I was on the hook for a bill that was over ten-fold more than we had been quoted, not counting the medications. I also need to note that my wife did not have any complications or issues and did not need any additional care or medicine past the expectedI then spoke to Harold who was over the entire billing division. He corrected the billing mistake. However, we ended up spending close to triple the initial quote. At best, the billing department is negligent in their duties and at worst they are deliberately lying to customers to elicit a sale on a very emotional issue.
Harold reached out to us to build the trust again so I would like to say thank you for that! This clinic is not recommended due to their lack of communication, multiple mistakes in invoicing, and just general carelessness. One occasion: I came in for my ultrasound mentioned that they need pre-approval for my time-sensitive medication, they requested approval days later after I called in 4-5 times (no response) and then the approval was rejected because it was not requested correctly. One the phone for hours with the healthcare provider to appeal and then it gots rejected because of something in my medical history I did not even know about!! Waste of time, energy and money! Then the team sent incorrect invoices that took months to correct.Again can I bill them for the stress, waste of time they caused? No.CJ, one of the nurses: you are an ABSOLUTE BLESSING!❤️❤️
Nurse Thao and Jazmin were so comforting and professional during this very stressful time and the embryologist toward my wife. We could not have asked for team. The doctors were so extremely kind and patient especially Dr. Nodler, Dr. Kudesia, and Dr. Zhou. They are literally the best and I appreciate them for taking care of my wife during these process.
As promised that I would edit this review to reflect that after waiting 3 months we got our refund but after leaving a bad review and nasty phone call.My wife and I did a round of IVF at the cost of approximately $19,000 to be paid up front. With no viable embryos to implant (due to chromosomal abnormalities) from the round of IVF we wanted to know our balance with CCRM. It took CCRM 2 1/2 months to audit our account to give us our remaining balance. Finally, after many many calls initiated ONLY by my wife, CCRM said we had a balance of $2900 and we would receive a check by the end of the week, no more than 2 weeks. We were supposed to receive this check 3 weeks ago as of 10/16/2019.
Dr. McKnight was so caring and informative. The Houston IVF staff is amazing also. I have been to several fertility clinics in the area and have been so happy with my treatment at Houston IVF. Wait times are very short, and the staff is so helpful. I love this place! Cannot say enough good things.
UPDATE: I did get a phone call but I kept asking about my lab results apparently they care more about this Google review than my actual lab results. Yes, I will request all my records to transfer somewhere else. Because your doctor is simply too busy to speak to someone with a failed ivf.**********This place runs like a factory. Only saw the doctor twice throughout the whole process and the retrieval doctor is not even the same doctor. It’s been 2 weeks, haven’t gotten any call back since the last conversation with the embryologist. (They were supposed to call back to explain the results) If you want a more personalized experience about ivf process, I would go somewhere else. I will not use this facility again.
We conceived our daughter with Dr. McKnight back in 2016 via an IUI, and now we just conceived our second child with her via IVF. We’ve had a wonderful experience with CCRM; the doctors, nurses and staff are very attentive and caring, and most importantly they’ve helped us beat the odds and have 2 beautiful children! We couldn’t be happier, and our daughter is thrilled to learn she’s getting a sibling. IVF is a stressful experience, but I felt that I was getting the best possible care here.
They Dr. is great, her back office support is awful. Don’t come here if you expect them to call your insurance and submit authorizations on time. Avoid the stress, pick a different clinic. You’ll spend hours on the phone with your own insurance company and hear conflicting information when you finally get someone from their financial office on the phone.Seek out alternative clinics.
This is the most scatter brained IVF clinic in Houston. I used a different IVF clinic for my 1st IVF round and everything went so smooth (my 1st round was successful) and stress free. This time I am using HIVF and I have had nothing but problems: medications not being called in, not able to get a hold of my nurse (ever), schedules being changed without notice so medications changes are not communicated, my information on my chart was entirely incorrect, when medications arent working they continue the same schedule knowing the cycle is doomed, and will let you go all the way to retrieval knowing the medications were failing and there is nothing to retrieve. This clinic is only in the business for the money, the staff is in no way concerned about the patience emotional or physical well being. they are neglectful, irresponsible and careless with your medication schedule and almost always drop the ball when it comes to communication.
I had a wonderful experience with CCRM Houston. My husband was diagnosed with cancer and CCRM fit us in immediately to discuss steps for fertility preservation before he began treatment. We were assigned to Dr. Kudesia and I cannot say enough nice things about her - she was so kind and comforting to us at our initial visit and only continued to impress us. We successfully banked sperm before my husbands treatment began, and about 9 months later I began my part - an egg retrieval, CCS testing and frozen embryo transfer. All services were successful and went as well as I could have hoped. Through talking to others who have gone through IVF, I realize how much of a difference your doctor and fertility clinic can make in the outcome of your journey, and I truly believe that Dr. Kudesia and CCRM are in large part to thank for my IVF success. Dr. Kudesia strikes the perfect balance between being a highly competent doctor and caring personally for her patients. She is clearly so knowledgeable and skilled at what she does and instilled a great sense of confidence in us having her as our doctor. She was also so kind - our situation had some unique challenges related to my husbands cancer treatment and prognosis, and Dr. Kudesia went above and beyond to answer all our questions (of which I had MANY) and to help us navigate our decision-making around family planning. It was a daunting time and she was so compassionate and helpful. In general, every CCRM nurse, phlebotomist, embryologist, administrative staff member, etc. that I interacted with was kind and professional. The facilities are pristine and appointments are always on time - things seem to run very efficiently. Lastly, CCRM has a partnership with LIVESTRONG Fertility, which was of great benefit to us, as we got services at a discounted rate. There was some confusion at one point about pricing, but I was very pleased with how CCRM handled it. Overall, I am very thankful for all aspects of my experience and would highly recommend CCRM!
My wife and I went through the first cycle of the IVF treatment. Unfortunately if was unsuccessful. We are in our planning stage of our second cycle. However, because financial issues are important, I wanted to confer with the financial department about our refund. However, our financial advisor is nowhere to be found. After several attempts of emails and voice mails, he finally called back. The phone conversation was very brief with miscommunication. The financial advisor did not know what I was talking about. We got off the phone and my wife and I discussed whether or not we should go through with this facility or not because of the poor call back and responses from the financial department. Everything else was outstanding. Dr. Nodler was very smart, detailed, kind, and professional. So was our planner. But when it comes to monetary issues, the financial department was no where to be found. It was just frustrating because we’re ready to go through the second cycle when the financial department gets their side right but because of their poor return calls, we’re still on hold for our second cycle. We went through our first cycle in October and it’s the end of November now and hardly any response from the financial department. If there is one, our finance advisor is not on the same page with us or somehow he doesn’t understand what I’m saying. We may have to look for another IVF Facility if things don’t work out for next week or two.
After years with another clinic in town and heartbreak and failure, we decided to seek another opinion with CCRM Houston (Houston IVF). Dr. Nodler and the staff at the medical center office are wonderful. They were an answer to our prayers. Im currently pregnant after our first round of IVF and first transfer. I am so grateful to CCRM and cant wait to visit when my daughter arrives in a few months. Dont waste time with other doctors. CCRM has the best success rates and will do everything to make your dreams come true without wasting your time and money.
Dr. Zhou was amazing her staff made me feel soooo comfortable! Melany was great with communicating with me and answering all questions! Thanks for the experience and helpful information to start making a decision soon!
I had undergone two previous IVF tries at a clinic out of town, without success (one was a biochemical miscarriage and one was completely negative). A friend of mine was treated at houston IVF and convinced me to make the 3.5 hour drive (each way) to try for one last try. I am so thankful that I did not give up, and that I made the effort to go to Houston IVF. I cannot say enough amazing things about the doctors and the nursing staff there! I saw all three doctors for my monitoring scans and my assigned doctor for my egg harvest and transfer- all of which TRULY seemed to care and know who I was. I am now 27 weeks with twins. Thank you Houston IVF!You have made such a difference in my life and I will never forget your wonderful care and compassion. If someone is truly struggling to find a place where you do not feel like a number--and has top quality medical care--I would not hesitate for a moment to go here.
I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. No where on the IUI contract does it say that they are offering a packaged discount deal for the price of the IUI when you are self-pay. If the IUI is not performed due to an error, it no longer becomes a package discounted deal and you must pay up front for all the ultrasound monitoring appointments at full price which actually end up being MORE than the IUI package you paid for you. Despite the clinic missing my ovulation (despite multiple ultrasound readings) and they CANT do the IUI, you dont get a discount but actually owe MORE money.CCRM was reckless with my money. They make you come in for multiple unnecessary ultrasound monitoring that if you actually had an experience MD reading your ultrasound from the beginning you can predict exactly when you are ovulating correctly with only one/two sonograms; instead of 8-10. They made me feel like it was my fault that my ovulation was missed because I just had a weird cycle and next time we will just have to bring you back more frequently despite already going in every other day. In actuality I had a normal progression of follicular development that was not accurately being read by the ultrasound tech. They will tell you the doctor/nurse reads your ultrasound too, but I highly doubt that given my situation. Successful IUI completed with only ONE ultrasound at a different fertility clinic read by an actual doctor, that predicts and wont miss your ovulation and charge you more money.
Houston IVF was a tremendous blessing to our family. When I entered the waiting room, I opened a book and saw letter upon letter of gratitude for the kind treatment and care given. There were many pictures of babies and happy families. Now I have added my own picture!! Our little girl is the joy of our lives!! I highly recommend Houston IVF. All of the doctors there are wonderful, and they have proven results!!
This is the 2nd fertility clinic/doc we’ve been to. We didn’t get far into the 1st one. This experience at CCRM was incredible and just from one visit we’ve learned so much and feel like an actual patient and not just a number. The doctor, nurses, and financial counselor were all very attentive and answered all questions openly. Highly recommend and we’ve only been in the office once!!!
My feedback is primarily with lack of business support the CCRM doctors have. There is a lack of timely support with insurance. This is critical to support patients with a small time window for treatment options. There are significant delays in confirming preauthorizations required. This leaves the patient in the middle with added stress with when you need to be calm for the treatment. This is not a proper way to run the business aspect for doctors who provide thorough information and care to patients.
My husband and I had been trying for several years and no luck! Then with the help of CCRM and Timothy Hickman we were able to finally conceive and now I am currently 9 weeks pregnant!! I didn’t know if this was going to be possible for me! I am just grateful I took a chance on CCRM and it was all worth it!
We were a #. An opportunity to bill insurance. We would go to the office and be told one thing and then go to the hospital for implant or transfer and the information the nurses would tell us post procedure would be different. We were just a number . No continuity. Locations were terrible. The doctor and staff would not address the patients pain, or headache, and offered no solutions. It was jisy bad news all 4 attempts. They would do a service and made it sound like it was included or normal, but then we would get a 5 figure bibi for a non-approved procedure or test. Nothing but a year of stress, huge highs and lows lows. Maxed out are insurance on them. Put my wife through hell. Meanwhile putting stress on our relationship. Going to a new place, close to us.
I highly recommend Houston IVF!! Dr Mc Kenzie and her staff are wonderful! She is kind, caring, friendly, thorough, super smart, and dedicated to the best care. She will meet with you and learn what you have been going through and what you have tried so far. Then she will help you map out a plan to figure out the best way to help you get pregnant. I visited her clinic from out of state. People even come here from other countries! If you are looking for help to have a baby I would definitely recommend Dr. McKenzie.
Dr. Nodler was exceptional, as well as the other physician partners that saw me throughout my journey. Everything was always organized and I felt safe and well taken care of throughout it all. They are THE BEST!
Dr. Kudesia is AMAZING!!!! She and her staff is so sweet and caring!! The office staff is very nice as well and it quick to get in and out of the office! The financial side of the staff is a little questionable sometimes but still very nice and helpful. 10/10 recommend!
On this mothers day. Im so grateful for Dr. McKnight and her team. At 43 Im celebrating my first mothers day..
My backroom experience was awesome from the first visit. It was very informational and pleasant. My nurses were all very nice and positive. I went through one round of IUI and I am currently pregnant with twins. Ultimately what I went there for was a success. The front room experience was terrible meaning the insurance specialist and communicating what your expenses really are from the beginning. They speak above your head and in circles so you really dont know how much your going to pay and when. I was always told something different from a specialist and when its time to check out the administrative assistant something totally different. They pull you into a room and tell you all this info and then say I will talk to the administrative assistant about the miscommunication. Next visit you ask her did they tell you whats going on and she responds they have told me nothing. I can say there is a huge gap in communication from the people who tell you how much you pay to the people that actually take your money. I have been released from their care because I am pregnant with twins and I still dont know how much I was suppose to pay. If you ask me should you go there? If your main concern is getting pregnant then yes that was an awesome experience but becareful when dealing with the financials because you can be totally confused when its all said and done. If something was not communicated to you and they know it was the clinics fault they will NOT admit it they will make you feel as if somehow it was your fault.
Dr. Hickman and his staff are excellent. After 2 years of trying to conceive without being successful, we were able to conceive on the second round of IUI. Unfortunately, the pregnancy did not workout but we will continue to try to conceive and have a successful pregnancy with the help of Dr. Hickman and his staff.
Miracle workers. Wife and I have a beautiful biological daughter against multiple odds due to the dedication, hard work, and professionalism at Houston IVF (CCRM Houston). I cannot say enough about Dr Hickman. A man of huge intellect and skill. This is the clinic to go to if other clinics have failed. Better yet, go here first.
I love the staff at this clinic, even the phlebotomists were wonderful. My dr Dr McKenzie was the most kind and caring Dr by far, and her nurse Nancy was wonderful. Overall after having a nightmare of a dr with my 1st ivf clinic, I was so happy to get refeared to this place. I did 1 round with them that gave me my baby boy and Im over 35. I was highly recommend this ivf clinic
Dr. Hickman went completely out of his way for our initial consult. I have talked to several reproductive doctors. Dr Hickman is by far the most knowledgeable, but not only that, he extremely kind and compassionate.
We love CCRM. From the get go CCRM have given my wife and I so much comfort and ease in the process of growing our family. We highly recommend them to any one with fertility needs.
I was an egg donor found through an outside agency. Houston IVF was the fertility clinic my intended parents chose, so I went through their process as an egg donor. The staff were all friendly during appointments and wait times were generally low. My nurse quit during my cycle and Houston IVF did not assign anyone new to me. If it werent for my agencys persistence in getting ahold of Houston IVF and getting anyone to look at my files, the cycle might not have gone through because we wouldve missed instructions and dates. They were very clearly interested in getting the most mature eggs possible for the intended parents with no concern at all for my health. The stimulation meds I used had an increased risk of OHSS (I had a mild case), and it was clear there were a TON of eggs (38). I received no follow up care/call/etc following the retrieval (which is considered a minor surgery and under anesthesia). After the eggs were collected, they told me to leave about 8-10 minutes after I woke up from anesthesia and never contacted me again.
Really friendly staff, never waited to long to be helped, they explain all the steps before it happens, Dr McKnight was so nice, was overall an amazing experience.
Every staff was very nice and helpful. Thank you so much!
The nurses were extremely good! Kaylea was very professional, but in a way that made my wife feel very comfortable.
I was originally excited about starting with ccrm but i have been calling and calling and no answer and its been a week now. I called again and finally got an answer after pushing an option that would warrant a person to answer and she informed me that corie lukas no longer worked there. So i asked ok so who should i be in contact with instead so she transfer me to someone and it rings and once again i get a voicemail. After waiting to leave a message it turns out its the same person message who she just told me no longer works there! Ugh, i am really tired of no responses and or direction from anyone. There is a fine line between being extremely buzy due to great clientele and just horrible customer service.
Nurse thao and jasmine and Maria made the experience 10000 times more comforting during this process. Dr zhou, dr Nodler, and dr Kudesia were very professional, patient and kind. Highly recommend
Courtney, Lynn, and Dr Hickman have done a fantastic job navigating my husband and me through the IVF process. Highly recommend!
I give this location a 1 star due to the fact that the staff not having knowledge to if ir not they accept my insurance, but 1 women answered yes to begin with others answered, no and Im not sure. It takes 1 week to call you for a simple answer that no one could simply tell you prior to scheduling an appt. I had this same issue in April thats why I canceled and figured Id give them a 2nd try. But Im not paying $200 consultation when Im entitled to pay $50!!! Theyre out of network and have no knowledge in the office it seems. They gave me the run around twice. Ill throw my ivf money else where, where I can properly be taken care of.
Dr. Beth and her team , They are all awesome!!!
I dontated to CCRM in May of 2022...Im now getting invoices for the labs they drew and threats that it will be sent to collections if I do not pay. I was told up front that none of the medical costs would fall back on me. Theyre in the thousands. Donors BEWARE-its a net zero situation.
I get the feeling the doctors are just in it for the money. They over charged me, and they have not refunded me despite saying on the phone they would. What they told me about the online systems were wrong as well. Besides my initial appointment, its been hard to get what I need from them.
Dr. Hickman was very informative during our consultation. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. The facilities are nice. Very comfortable and inviting.
Not excited after doing so much research and being hopeful to jump into a new cycle my medical process was stopped due to staff neglecting to take my weight. REALLY!???
Terrible service, avoid. Not even the same doctor on the day of the procedure, no follow up after. They only call you for your 1 star reviews. That’s all they care about!! And your money of course.
I did not go far with this clinic, but already could see they were money grubbing and miscommunicating to me and my gynecologist.
Absolutely fantastic! They treated us with the utmost respect and care. They were compassionate and caring and gave us our precious son, a gift we are forever grateful for.
If I could give this 0 I would. What a terrible clinic, they never return your calls, it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone. I left several voicemails and no one calls back. Don’t go here they don’t care or take anyone serious
I feel like it is too good to give them one score. All they think is how to charge more money to the customers. And the nurses and the doctors are extremely rude. I had horrible experience there.
Professional in every way, very clean and private!!!
My wife called the Main Center for information (11/13 - 1pm) and the front desk was very rude and didn’t want to help. I would avoid this place if that’s the starting experience.
I called for outside monitoring and was given price of $195 and show up to their office and the front desk receptionist told me the price is $395 and we don’t accept insurance.. called Michelle who scheduled me and she never once apologized for her mistake.. she then told me the price is estimate and $195 to $395 is huge difference and now I have to find someone who can fit me in because I will not give them by business.
We have absolutely had the best experience at CCRM Houston!! We love Dr Hickman and all the staff that works there.
Please do not go to this clinic .... the only you get ... stealing your money .... they stole my money and my time ... and got out empty handedthey are very good in stealing moneyYou may search in your records my wife RababBelieve me your clinic is empty alreadyAnd I asked myself why there is no patientsThen I found out ... because you stealing people money and you hurt them instead of helping themGod sees and your end is near
Dr was late to my appointment and I was going to be a new patient she didn’t make it in time at all and is barely available I’m not happy at all with this company
Our Dr was very pessimistic and didnt explain any of our options. It was more like this is what youll do, end of story. I wouldnt recommend any of my family or friends go there.
They were always very friendly
Thank you so much for being the kind of doctor that actually listens to me and my concerns. I honestly felt so defeated until yesterday’s appointment.
The 5 stars are for Dr. Zhou!
Everyone was great , kind and it was a very easy process
Wonderful staff! Very friendly, informative and professional.
Great place! Very nice staff too!
Great people 👏
