Pure OBGYN provided outstanding care throughout my pregnancy and the birth of my son. The offices are conveniently located, well-organized, and staffed by a kind and knowledgeable team. Every visit felt smooth and supportive, from detailed and friendly sonograms to clear guidance on navigating an induction.Special thanks to Dr. Mary Cathryn Earnhardt, whose fun and personal approach made appointments a joy, and Dr. Christine Friedman, who attended my son’s birth with such kindness and respect. She ensured a wonderful experience and prioritized a smooth recovery. Dr Friedmans care and attention allowed me to have the birth I wanted which has resulted in a blissful first week with my newborn. My recovery and experience has meant I could fully focus on bonding with them and that is thanks to my doula and Dr Friedmans wonderful care.I will definitely return to Pure for my next pregnancy and highly recommend them.
Today was my first time visiting this office. I had a wonderful experience. The young lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing and helpful. Then when I was called in with the doctors assistant, she was absolutely amazing. Also unfortunately I forgot her name. Than Dr. Palmer Came in and was very wonderful women. She listens to my concerns and made me feel very comfortable. I was very satisfied with the office and everything about it. Thank you so much.
I had my first visit with Dr. Lowe for prenatal care, and it was an amazing experience! She was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough, taking the time to answer all my questions and address my concerns. As a first-time patient, I felt completely at ease and confident in her care. The staff was also welcoming and professional, which made the entire experience even better. I’m so glad to have found Dr. Lowe and look forward to continuing my prenatal journey with her!
God knows how much I hate visiting doctors but it was an exception. Great staff, fantastic atmosphere. Everything was created to make you feel comfortable. The best clinic I have ever been in for entire life. Valeriya and Dr.Palmer are the best. Thank u.Updates:I came to the office for a pap smear. 1st time this year. Just preventing care. As a result, my insurance sent me a claim details letter saying I have to pay out of pocket $545 for it. Waiting for the bill from the office to get details. Im very angry. Guys, what is going on? Since when pap smear costs so much?????? Shouldnt it be free or you did some test without informing me and charged me for it????
My experience with Pure OBGYN was deeply concerning. The front desk staff was unfriendly and incredibly impatient, dismissing my questions and making me feel incompetent for seeking clarity. The doctor’s communication was nonexistent—she recommended numerous tests but never followed up with the results. In fact, several serious health issues requiring immediate attention were completely overlooked. The doctor didn’t ask meaningful questions or provide guidance, leaving me to come prepared with my own list, only to hear, “everything looks great, see you next week?” repeatedly. Tragically, despite being reassured that everything was fine, my baby wasn’t developing properly, and because critical issues from the blood tests were ignored, I ultimately suffered a miscarriage. I strongly advise against going here—they seem more focused on scheduling as many appointments as possible for financial gain than on providing genuine care for you and your baby.
Professional, courteous and friendly staff. Clean environment, no wait time. Dr. Wu was knowledgable, explained everything in details, offered solutions and pleasant. Looking forward to continuing my care here
I love the doctors, the staff, and the clean, well-maintained facilities at Pure OBGYN. I’ve visited both the Madison Avenue location on 40th Street and the one in Lower Manhattan, and every experience has been wonderful. I was under their care during my last pregnancy, and I always felt I was in great hands. I’m very pleased with their services!
I would not recommend Dr. Lowe if you already have pre-existing conditions. She didn’t seem to believe anything that I said about my past medical history and years of ultra sounds and procedures. She also wouldn’t provide any medication (that I have been taking)- she only refers you out to someone else to see. Absolute waste of time. She was in the room for less than 5 minutes with me. She kept saying PCOS and insulin resistance was outside of her scope of practice. Also, I was unsure why she said I needed to go to a radiologist to get an ultrasound when I was sitting right next to an ultrasound machine. There’s a lot of procedures or tests they don’t do in- house. Will not be returning to this doctor.
Pure was a great experience. The front office was pleasant, kind and amazing. The back technicians were amazing and explained everything they were going to do. The doctors listened and asked questions. I have never experienced this level of care in women’s health. If they accept your insurance I suggest you go.
MUST READ!!! Pure OBGYN is my go to Women’s Health office since 2021. I wanted to leave a review due to my recent visits. Before I get to the negative, I do want to say the ONLY DOCTOR who is amazing, patient, and actually caring towards her patients is DR VANESSA PINARD. But everybody else is just there for a pay check. Go else where. The rudest doctor is the owner himself I believe he is the older Dr Goncharov. Only seen him once, and I’ll never see him again, even if I’m in a desperate need of a doctor. Dr Wu - extremely rude, impatient, doesn’t even have the time to explain anything to me, I’m lucky I am in the medical field and have knowledge of medical terminology. But her not explaining anything to me and just sending messages about my diagnoses via the patient portal - I feel bad for the patients who don’t know any terminology. Dr PINARD took the time to answer all the questions I had. I really truly appreciate her. She’s the only reason why this place would get 5 stars from me as of today. And she’s the only reason why they are getting 3 stars from me otherwise it would be ZERO!!!
Billed me incorrectly and refused to look at the documentation provided by my insurance company (Cigna). Absolutely incompetent billing department. Avoid like the plague unless you want to deal with years of back and forth and insistence of incorrect debt. Absolutely shameful and predatory practice.Editing 12/23/24 to add: it’s laughable that they’re telling me to email them to resolve. I’ve emailed my documentation from Cigna multiple times now with no response or resolution. I’m quite aware of how insurance works, and in fact my insurance company told me you billed me incorrectly. Pure OBGYN couldn’t care less about patients and only care about the money they can squeeze from them.
This place was so dirty, they made me wait a hour, extremely expensive if you pay out of pocket. I have a doctor and I’ve done all the tests and they wanted to push more test on me because they obviously wanted to make more money even though I said I just wanted to come in for an ultrasound which by the way ended up being $700?! Left before they gave me the results because I just wanted to make sure everything was OK don’t come here.Since I can’t answer your response personally and you would like to defend yourself here was my actual experience. The doctor I booked…I didn’t even see her. First there were two nurses that were more worried about a laptop that a past client left in the room, which might I add was after they told me to strip down. I had to find the laptop and deliver it to the front. This took 30 minutes alone. Then the “doctor” came in with a full attitude to ask 4 questions and leave. Then a completely other woman came in to do the ultrasound. She was insistent I was having a transvaginal ultrasound even though Im over four months pregnant and that is not needed anymore. She had to ask 3 different people if that was ok ? If she didn’t know if that was ok then why is she preforming this on me ?? She then didn’t tell me anything while she was shoving the wand into my stomach which I had to tell her 3 times to let up because I was in pain. She was only interested in getting measurements but not describing anything she saw. Very reassuring… She left and said wait for the doctor for results ?? The doctor should’ve been the one that was preforming the ultrasound and going through it with me, not on her lunch break? Is that not the reason I booked her ? I left 15 minutes after waiting because the entire experience was ridiculous. Good luck making that sound good !
I was initially apprehensive about switching to a new gynecologist, but my experience today exceeded my expectations. Dr. Earnhardt was exceptional, making me feel very confident and at ease. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring everything was handled promptly and professionally.Thank you
The staff was friendly enough. However, I did have quite a few negative interactions with my doctor. Doctor Earnhardt had a pretty cold and dismissive bedside manner that made my visits unpleasant. Im 25 and fit, and I was bedridden with debilitating pregnancy symptoms for over a month. I was met with advice such as Just take Tylenol, Thats not pregnancy related, and Cant you just have a salad?. The tension and passive-aggression was palpable enough for my partner to notice. To top it all off - when my partner and I informed her that we were changing OBGYNs, she made a point to stoke fear by saying, Itll be very difficult to find someone to take you this far along (19 weeks). I found multiple OBGYNs in one day. Unbelievable. It felt like dealing with a high school mean girl; I do not recommend Doctor Earnhardt (Im not sure about the other doctors at this practice). Additionally, I chose this practice because of its proximity to Bryant Park. However, they informed me that for the latter half of my pregnancy, I would need to go to the Flatiron office since their BP location didnt have the proper equipment. This totally defeated the purpose of choosing them in the first place.
Since I am parting ways with Pure OBGYN I can finally leave this review. AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS.My doctor was great, but the front desk/receptionist staff and their call center are extremely incompetent and it is not worth seeing my doctor anymore.I would like to note my experiences with this office happened in July and August of 2023, but based on the reviews they have not improved whatsoever even though they comment on negative reviews saying they want to improve. In July, it took over a week of me calling daily for them to finally send my prescription over to my pharmacy. When you call, sometimes it gets sent to their call center who cannot communicate with the doctors directly so my prescription was heavily delayed. I have never experienced this as most doctors offices send prescriptions the day of the appointment and I can even pick it up the same day.In August, I went to take an insulin resistance exam. This exam requires 2 hours of waiting to be administered properly. I asked the nurse doing my exam if it was alright for me to just be in the waiting room/lobby for the 2 hours. She told me yes, so I sat in a corner of the waiting room and got work done on my laptop. About 90 minutes in, one of the receptionists at the front desk yelled at me and asked something along the lines of Do you need something? Why are you here? I dont know why she needed to yell across the office. I replied back and said I was currently doing a medical exam and needed to wait for 2 hours. She said Oh okay, in an annoyed tone and then went back to whatever she was doing. I dont know why she seemed annoyed with me when all I did was sit in a corner and mind my business, it is not like the waiting room was full and needed the chair I was sitting in. I also dont know why I have to announce to everyone why I am there. Did she think I like to sit in waiting rooms for fun? It was embarrassing and unnecessary.I thought this showed a lack of care on the receptionist staff and it almost left me in tears. I did not originally want to leave a negative public review, so I left a message via their contact form on their website and no one contacted me regarding this incident and their receptionist staff continue to get negative feedback on here. That contact form must be for decoration only.Again, avoid this facility at all costs. It is not worth being degraded and humiliated for no reason. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Dr. Anne Wold has terrible bedside manner and is quite short tempered. She did not make me feel safe or comfortable in her care. The office itself is quite clean however if you were choosing this office I would highly recommend a different provider.
The front desk staff (who youre likely to deal more with than the doctors) is very incompetent and insensitive. They dont care if you have an urgent need, even as a pregnant woman. They did not prioritize my needs and spoke very coldly to me each time i called to follow up. Same request i called 5 different times for was addressed by a prior doctor in 1 call and within 5 minutes.
I am very pleased with ObGyn. The staff is friendly and professional. I was seen on time. I loved the doctor. She was patient and very personable. I found her to be very easy to talk with.
Horrible experience. Dr Lowe was condescending and made any question I had seem like a huge inconvenience. I was told my antibiotic would be sent to the pharmacy and it never was. I called and left many messages. They rarely picked up. When they did, they said they would address it and never did. I struggled in pain with the no medication for days because of Pure’s incompetence. My PCP eventually stepped in provided my medication. Don’t go here. Save yourself the time and pain.I scheduled on Zodoc and they gave me a different doctor than the one I requested as well. Big yikes.
I honestly don’t understand all the negative reviews! I needed a last minute appointment and I was so grateful to get an appointment super quickly. Everyone was super nice and welcoming, from the front desk, to the nurses, to the lab tech, to the Dr. I saw Dr. Wu and she was great - super efficient, clear, and answered all my questions. I was given all the correct tests and blood work was done right after my appointment, and my prescription was sent and was ready promptly.
I love this place!Joanna at the front desk was super helpful and double checked to make sure that my insurance # was correct. She even took the time to check in and see how I was doing.Addriana then took over and she was also so helpful and made me feel so at ease before meeting Dr. Wu.Dr. Wu was incredible and answered my questions while also proactively educating me. I was nervous for the visit but it was pain free, pleasant, and I was in and out within 40 minutes and made it back before work even began!I would highly recommend Pure OBGYN. Their professionalism and kindness are beyond the best.
Definitely read and listen to the reviews before making an appointment.First off, the reception is extremely rude and short with you. Not how a point of contact should speak with potential patients (who at the end of the day are customers!).After they collected all of my insurance information multiple times prior to the appointment, they still didn’t check whether I had coverage until the time of my appointment.I went in and they asked for a urine sample which is standard, but for a “elevated” obgyn office this place was absolutely filthy. My jaw literally dropped when I went into their bathroom, it was so disgusting. I was scared to touch anything it was so dirty. Then I was taken to an exam room and honestly the state of this room had me nervous to put my things down on any surfaces as it was so dirty. You can see fluids, hair, and pieces of garbage all over the floors. They told me to take off my shoes to be weighed and I literally asked if I can just keep them on because I was genuinely terrified of stepping onto the filthy floor. Then when I looked up at the instruments laid out on the counter, nothing beneath them, all unwrapped and exposed on a dirty counter top (that also had fluid stains on it). I swear I felt like I was in the twilight zone this place was horrendously filthy, I take the subway everyday and am not averse to filth but this place prides itself in being “high-end” and offering an “elevated experience”, it was so gross in there that it was not even funny. They asked me to get underdressed and wait for the doctor and as I started to do so, the receptionist came into the exam room and proceeded to tell me that I did not have any coverage and would need to pay for the appointment out of pocket. I have never experienced anything so unprofessional in my life. If there was a problem with insurance she should have waited until the end of the appointment and not interrupted like that. I immediately got dressed and left. Not sure how this place still operates and how providers feel comfortable working at a place like this but it’s a horrible establishment. I wish I had taken photos of the filth for people to beware and avoid this place at all costs.
I called few times and contacted via email with the receptionist regarding transfer and get an appointment for regular control but nobody ever got back to me. It’s so shame atleast they could email back or say over the phone if they are not able to give service.
Updated for the continued horrific treatment I received. I emailed, called, and gave the practice TWO WEEKS to respond to my messages and still have not received a response.------------------------I have been a patient here for 2 years. Unfortunately my old doctor left the practice (she was incredible), but I decided to give it another go. It was a huge mistake. It has taken me two months to write this review after my horrific experience at your practice and recovery from a brain tumor I eventually discovered. In my first appointment on March 8th, 2024, I discussed my almost debilitating exhaustion, unexplained weight gain, headaches, body aches, lack of libido, and other seemingly hormonal symptoms.Dr. Wu crassly and judgmentally looked at me and said, Well, at 35, you shouldnt be eating bread or dairy anymore. That statement is1. Not based on accurate science or nutritional advice2. Laced with judgement3. Completely insane to say to someone looking for help4. Horrific medicine and care for someone with a history of anorexia (as I have told doctors at the practice in the past)5. Was a completely incorrect read of the situationOnly AFTER I was extremely angry and continued to ask for tests did she agree to anything. Blood work was done as well as an ultrasound. The ultrasound found a LARGE fibroid in my belly.TEN days after my appointment, I was still trying to get my test results after repeatedly calling day after day after day. I finally received a call back from someone with ONLY my PAP smear results. I came back into the office for a colposcopy. At that point, I asked the new doctor for my blood results because NOBODY called me, discussed them with me, or sent them my way. The doctor then told me of my EXTREMELY concerning prolactin levels but did not give me any advice on what could be causing them and had me retest my blood a few days later. When I came back for that blood test, I was STILL charged a $50 copay (when it should have been $20 for every visit), even though I saw NO doctor and received NO care. After those results, I got a call from a THIRD doctor I had never met, letting me know I had a brain tumor and giving me a referral for an MRI. I went to go get that MRI and NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE AGAIN. Lenox Hill Radiology had to walk me through my report because nobody from Pure OBGYN ever called me after my MRI was sent. Now, I have received a bill for a vascular study that never occurred, which I never consented to, and which I have no reason for getting. This is the most unbelievable experience I have ever had at a medical practice. I need proof of the vascular study, an explanation as to why it was done, who performed it, and what the results were.I will never, ever step foot near a Pure practice again. I have since moved over to NYU, wherein the amount of time it took me to get blood results from Pure; I was able to see a Neurosurgeon, ENT surgeon, Neuro Ophthalmologist, and Endocrinologist, get multiple labs done, another MRI, AND have had surgery. That is care.Their doctors are seeing too many patients, and the inability to get lab results is inhumane. Their business needs updating badly.DO NOT, under any circumstances, go to this practice.
I had my annual exam back in January along with other standard testing and have not gotten a single call, email or reference to a portal with my results. I filled out a form on the website and got zero response. I also didn’t love that the doctor told me annual exams are a thing of the past and made me feel really uncomfortable that I opted to track my cycle vs birth control. While I appreciate the ability to get an appointment easily, I will not be going back.
This place is an actual SCAM. I have never had this kind of experience in my 20 years of seeing varying gynecologists in NYC. I went for an annual exam (which is 100% covered by my insurance). Because I mentioned that my period hadnt yet returned after giving childbirth - they submitted my appointment as a more specialized appointment so that they could make $50. The doctor did nothing to advise me because there was nothing to advice - its very normal for a period to take time to return. No special tests were suggested or ordered, no directions or advice given. I literally said yeah, my period hasnt come back yet and they charged me. I guess if I didnt want to pay extra I should have....held back information from the doctor. Super safe and ethical right? I called billing three times, each time they took forever to get back to me. When I did get them on the phone they couldnt really tell me why the bill made sense, only that I fell outside what was normal billing because my menstruation was off cycle. Complete violation of trust on multiple levels, my personal health status was manipulated for the purpose of making more money. I am waiting for the manager to call me back, we will see what happens. In the meantime I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and am soon filing a medical complaint with the Department of Health.
STAY AWAY!!!!!! Terrible office management. Dr. was nice but waited over 3 weeks for an Rx authorization despite me calling multiple times, my insurance calling (while I was on hold with the rep) and our pharmacy calling. Sent messages via the office portal (that went unanswered) and was finally told the office submitted all the paperwork incorrect. When I informed the office I was once again, left without a response. Ultimately insurance rep advised us to switch to a more competent practice.
I really think this office does a good job. The check in process is always smooth, they have sparkling waters if you’re thirsty, you don’t wait an unreasonable amount of time to be seen and they do communicate when needed/do follow up care. Came here after a nightmare experience elsewhere and have seen 2 different providers both of which were great.
I’ve received terrible care at this office. I went in early April and received multiple tests for symptoms I was experiencing. During the appointment I felt rushed and dismissed. I received my results after a week via the portal and was told everything looked normal despite still having uncomfortable symptoms. I asked Dr. Friedman to call me to go over the results, and the nurse informed me that it was unnecessary because there was “nothing to be concerned about.” I went to my PCP to follow up since I was still uncomfortable, where I was told I needed to be treated with antibiotics. I was upset that Pure had failed to either run this test or inform me of these results, but chose to move on as I was being treated. A week later, I got a call from Pure asking if I had begun antibiotic treatment. Mind you, I had never been notified of these results via the portal or via phone. I explained that I had received antibiotics via my PCP. The nurse informed me that I was taking the incorrect antibiotics and needed to take other antibiotics. I was confused by this, and asked for clarification and to speak with Dr. Friedman again. The nurse told me she’ll try to get a hold of Dr. Friedman but that I shouldn’t expect a call back any time soon because she is busy with other patients. I’m incredibly upset with the lack of care, lack of communication, and complete dismissal as a patient. Something that should’ve been an easy antibiotic treatment has now been drawn out for weeks and I still can’t get any clear direction from my doctor on how to proceed. I’m left feeling defeated and worried about my health as I’m still not sure if I am receiving proper treatment.
Customer service always has a bad attitude every time when I call, they do not provide any info about the practice or doctors. Customer service also refuses to help with medical records.Responding to Pures comment:Yes, I did not end up seeing anyone at your practice because your customer service refused to help me transfer my imaging from another practice to Pure, which was needed for my diagnosis. (I went to see Dr Cheng Tou because she is awesome and I saw her before she joined your practice). And because I couldnt get my imaging delivered to your practice, I had to keep delaying it, eventually, I had to reschedule a time with another doctor, and guess what happened, your doctor who was supposed to see me FORGOT she had an appointment with me and canceled without even calling me in advance, and I took time off from work for the appointment, I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism, just another reason I dont recommend you to anyone!
Please never go to this practice. I had good feelings after my appointment, but everything quickly went downhill from there.1. The doctor did not place an order for my regular prescription — I had to chase the office down to get this filled and then when they finally did it, it was filled incorrectly and I had to chase them again. The pharmacist also said to avoid this place. All other doctors I have had fill prescriptions immediately, often before I’ve even left my appointment.2. The doctor gave me a new prescription that was more expensive than expected. I contacted her to see if it was worth paying the cost or if I should try another option we discussed at the appointment. I tried messaging in the portal (apparently this doesn’t work even though the feature is available) and calling the office and still, multiple weeks later, I have not heard back from her.3. I went for imaging and when I showed up, the imaging center told me the doctor wrote me an order for the wrong procedure. My appointment was delayed while they got this straightened out. It’s been almost 4 weeks since I got the imaging and the doctor never called to review the results with me. I find this highly unprofessional and have never had a doctor not follow up like this.4. I contacted the billing department twice before receiving a call back and was asked how they could help me. She had not reviewed any of the information in the prior messages and was blindly calling back because the front desk told her to call me (they knew more of what was going on than she did). I gave up on getting an answer to my question for the sake of my mental health and just paid the bill as-is.I will not be returning back to this practice and will be finding a new OBGYN. I would highly recommend you do the same.
Do not go to this office/doctors. I had the worst gynecology experience of my life. I made an appointment with this office hoping to address pain issues and recieve my annual exam. I was recommended by my gastroenterologist and my pelvic floor physical therapist to explore hormonal causes of my chronic health issues. While trying to give the doctor my patient history, the doctor dismissed my GI problems entirely and word for word told me Youre not special. The doctor asked me if I was trying to conceive at this time, and I told them no, I was trying to address my pain issues and rule hormonal issues in my GI problems. I lead a healthy lifestyle of daily exercise and balanced diet, and I maintain a healthy weight. Despite this, they handed me a packet about improving my fertility through diet and exercise at the end of the appointment. I communicated previous treatments (birth control pills, IUD, etc) Id recieved without success/with serious side effects, and they recommended I go back on the birth control pills. Anything I brought up in this appointment was dismissed as me being older. And finally, after getting through this appointment that made me feel like my questions/concerns were trivial, I checked my medical records from the appointment to find that the wrong weight was listed (180 lbs instead of 130 lbs). I will not be returning to this doctor, and I strongly caution against anyone else going here.
I originally set up an appointment on ZocDoc a week before for 5pm and on the day of the appointment they called me to tell me they don’t take new patients at 5pm, which should have been told to me sooner so I could make those arrangements (this was my first sonogram so I was eager to go). For my personal views I did not feel like the doctor gave a lot of informed consent and just wanted me to do what she said.I eventually switched practices and attempted to call to cancel my last appointment multiple times and either the line was busy or it went straight to voicemail. I left a message and even messaged in the portal just trying to get through to someone. NOW I have just received a bill for a no show, after I spoke with someone on the phone about this already. Last thing is that some of the front desk girls are really not friendly and should understand that part of that means being a bit more empathetic to pregnant women.
I went to Dr. Sophia Wu and she rushed through our appointments immensely and ran a myriad of lab tests without consulting my insurance by saying she was not able to see what was covered beforehand. Even after getting my $2,000 lab results, the doctor never reached out to explain or debrief the findings. Going to an office like this where they care about money over a patients health is not worth going to.
I strongly recommend not seeing Dr. Stephanie Pollitz, who is incredibly rude and judgmental. This place (Pure OBGYN) is supposed to be somewhere for women to be comfortable keeping their reproductive health in check. Why demand that I come here more often if youre contributing to such a hostile environment? She criticized me when I didnt do the best job of explaining my medical history as well as my familys who Im not close with. Also she was quite condescending towards me for not being consistent with birth control, rhetorically asking me if I wanted to get pregnant. She even tried to push a hormonal IUD on me and she questioned where I got my (non-hormonal) IUD removed since she only saw insertion in my history. Why does the location of where I got it removed matter? Are you going to contact those people? She also mocked my anxiety towards use of the speculum by telling me you survived once it was removed. And when she gave me a better understanding of test results I received years ago, she acted as if my shock annoyed her. Her reaction was I dont know what to tell you. They explained this to you (back then). First of all you werent there. Second of all you could have just kindly said sorry you had to find out this way. Lastly, while to doctor was speaking I was looking at the wall because I feel that I can focus better on what someone is saying if Im not making eye contact, and she waved her hand and scolded me to make sure Im listening. I feel like during this entire appointment the doctors goal was to make me feel dumb instead of making me feel like my health is being taken care of.
Very disappointing experience with billing! Please read all the recent and negative reviews here. Like the others have stated, I have significant billing concerns - I was led to believe I was receiving routine care from Pure Ob Gyn (100% covered) and now months later I am receiving unexpected bills. Trying to speak to the practice has been incredibly frustrating, my calls to speak with billing were met with strange, aggressive replies or my emails have been ignored. After 9 months of trying to get my issues with the practice resolved, I was never given a clear reason for why my visits were not coded properly with very distressing excuses provided for how they approached my prenatal care. I am very concerned for other patients that other reviewers voice similar concerns.
I went to see Dr. Masson and his team this week for an 18 week check in and ultrasound. The whole experience was very smooth and I really appreciated them fitting me in, despite my traveling from out of state and not being a regular patient. Moreover, Ive had wonderful experience with Sabrina R. and the front desk staff. Shes been so helpful and responsive with all of my emails, insurance and scheduling follow ups. Its made the whole thing so stress free.Im grateful to have found them during my trip here!
My doctor is amazing but the staff isn’t. I must’ve called over 5x requesting for my medical records, results and so did my insurance and health advocate. I’ve submitted forms and still We go through layers of red tape, even after calling and emailing info@pureobgyn email or on my account online. When following up, we are repeatedly asked to email that email to request a follow-up. What can I possibly do to get my records so that insurance can properly assess the bills? What’s worse is the clinic uses the wrong coding (deemed by insurance to be a code for medical investigation). Patient ends up doing all the work to get it sorted out and yet the clinic does nothing to help when this should have been their work and responsibility to begin with. They gave the wrong code. It’s unnerving. I badly want to speak to my doctor about it but I doubt they even let her know I’ve been requesting for a call back. Not only are they remiss with billing, requesting for mammo/MRI is a pain. One person says I’m ok to have an MRI, another says I can’t, it’s just a mess. Someone needs to get staff to do their work. Otherwise this facility and the doctors are awesome.
I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Samantha Lowe, she was very attentive and thorough. I was able to get my results back the same day in which she later called me to update me on everything which I did appreciate. Also, the nurse that took all my information and vitals had great bedside manners, communicated well, and also very attentive. Overall, I was pleased with the experience.
Disappointing, scamming practice. I came in for an annual check that I do every year free of charge through insurance. As part of the annual, I peed in a cup for basic std testing. For some reason I was charged for a very unnecessary pregnancy test that I did not ask for or authorize, which is also a violation of my privacy. I’ve been calling for over a month to get the bill corrected. I leave voicemails for a call back and every time billing calls me back, I explain the issue again, they claim they’ll get back to me, but they never follow up. I told the he front desk the issues I was having with billing, and they said the manager would call me. This never happened. Over a month and 4 attempts and no one will get back me to correct the issue - extremely poor service. You will lose patients and revenue if you refuse to handle customer service issues. I will not be paying or returning unless I receive some kind of correspondence or correction. It’s a simple resolution. They also billed my insurance for a pap smear that was not performed. It’s clear that this place is more interested in money and scamming rather than patient care.Update: management reached out and resolved the issue
Very positive experience! I could easily book an appointment online, there was no waiting, and all stuff is very friendly, thoughtful and professional
Steer clear of Pure OB and find a legitimate practice.I went about 3 months ago for a consult on some pain I was having. I arrived early for my appointment but due to a mix up I waited 2 hours before being brought back to an exam room. I asked multiple times while waiting what was going on and when to expect to be seen. The answer every time was were taking care of it and the final reason they gave was someone had put my file in the wrong stack of papers. In the exam room, the first person I was was the ultrasound technician. They did some standard intake ultrasounds which I later learned were not all necessary. After the tech left I waited another hour before seeing the doctor. The doctor was short with me, rude, and condescending of my concerns. The overwhelming feeling from her was that I was an idiot. After the doctor exam they suggested I get standard blood work and urine samples tested. At this point I had been in the office for 4 hours and needed to eat before giving blood. I expressed this but they insisted that they needed to take the blood asap because the office was closing soon.Billing for this appointment as been a nightmare: I have spent multiple hours on the phone with the office, office manager, and billing department. The billing department does not have an email or phone number- the only way talk to them is to call, leave a message, and wait for a call back (which comes usually days later). The office did unnecessary studies I did not consent to and then charged me for them. Additionally some of the standard blood work they did was sent to an out of network lab that my insurance will not cover even though the office and billing department assured me they do not work with out of network providers.Currently I am looking at potentially paying $1000s of dollars for the worst appointment I have ever been too. I have been to many OB/Gyn appointment with providers throughout NYC and have never been treated so horribly by a doctor or so grossly overcharged and money gauged by the billing department. Steer clear of Pure OB and find a legit practice.
While the initial appointment with the doctor went well and the clinic was nice, the experience that followed afterward turned into an ordeal.I had my yearly checkup and pap smear done 2 months ago. While I was there, I took the opportunity to do some blood work to check my iron levels (chronic low iron levels) and other factors. The results of my blood and urine tests were available on the online portal, but my pap smear results were missing. I tried calling the clinic multiple times and was promised a call back, which never came. Frustrated with the lack of response after two months, I started calling every day last week. I called on Thursday, Friday, Monday, and finally received a call today. The medical assistant who called informed me that there was no record of me having a checkup or a pap smear, and the only record they had was for the lab work. I insisted that I had indeed undergone a checkup and a pap smear, and I even recounted the conversation I had with the doctor. I told her that it was possible they had lost my sample, but she insisted that if I had done it, there would be paperwork. I even mentioned that I had a photo of myself in the medical gown on the doctors chair, providing further evidence, but she refused to accept that they had made a mistake. They had no paperwork documenting my checkup and no idea what had happened to my sample. I understand that mistakes happen, and I would have been fine if they had admitted their error and offered to redo the pap smear. However, the person I spoke with was rude and continued to deny that I had undergone the procedure. To add to the frustration, Im positive there was a mix-up with my blood work as well. As I mentioned, I have always had low iron levels, consistently measuring in the 30s (with the acceptable range being 40-180). I had blood work done in March, which showed a level of 39. However, the blood work I did in May at this clinic came back with a result of 183, which is completely implausible for my iron levels. Im unsure whether the clinic inputted the wrong results or if I received someone elses blood work. The entire situation has been a complete mess. The medical assistant was rude and did not even apologize for the mishandling of my case. (However, the front desk person, Brandy, was actually nice and tried to help). I now need to find another clinic to get the pap smear done. Its disappointing because my initial appointment experience was positive, but I cannot justify returning to this clinic after such a disorganized and unprofessional experience.
Set up an appointment on zocdoc, after confirming with my insurance the provider was covered and in network. Got the all clear. When I arrived, I was told they don’t participate with my insurance and don’t bill the provider directly so because my provider was covered but the practice wasn’t I drove 2 hours to be told I had to self pay.
Be careful of misleading practices. I called the day before my appointment to cancel a follow up that was not needed. In the call they made no mentioned of any cancellation or rescheduling fee. Then the day of I called back and was informed I would face a $50 cancellation fee, which was not mentioned whatsoever in my initial conversation. This is incredibly misleading and please be warned that the practice prioritizes its business over its patients. When I asked for a way to contact their billing department, I was informed they had no email, no phone number, or any way to directly reach them—completely unheard of in any practice I’ve ever been to.I will never come back again.
Never had such horrible service in all my life. No one calls back with results. Had to call almost everyday for someone to get back to me. The reason why its so easy to get an appointment is because NO ONE wants to go here.
While the doctor I saw was nice, they make you chase them down for results and medication. They tried to charge me for my annual before I even had the appointment telling me I can only talk about certain topics and if I go beyond that there is a charge. Money hungry office. Instead of sending a needed medication, they want me to come in again (1 week after my original appointment) before sending anything, an effort to get more money from their patients no doubt. Steer clear of here.
I recently saw Dr. Lowe. To be honest, I felt pretty rushed and I had to ask her the name of the medication she would recommend for my condition and I had to ask a lot of follow up questions. If someone was more shy, I dont think they would get as thorough of a checkup and might even miss an infection. I also saw Dr. Pollitz and I thought she was wonderful and very thorough. A nurse technician named Beth was very helpful and even let me guide the ultrasound tool myself, because I get queasy with OB physical exams. I really appreciated that.
I’m surprised this office is still rated so highly given the clear lack of responsibility and communication from the staff. My doctor was fine, just very quick, although she’s been mentioned multiple times with much worse reviews on here.1) Like everyone else said, it’s impossible to get a hold of the office. I had irregular results and needed to call back and couldn’t reach anyone through various times of the day.2) Had one of my appointments cancelled the morning of due to their system error. Tried to call back to schedule and again could not reach anyone.3) My doctor told me to call back about a specific medication I was taking and they wouldn’t pass my message to the doctor but insisted I come in… (obviously to bill me more money..??) When I asked if the doctor can call me back they said yes and it’s been days.I’m already preparing myself to go through the hassle of getting my medical records and changing practices.Update:Needed to get a medication sent in and it took 2 weeks. The pharmacy needed to speak to my doctor and they tried calling for 4 days straight with no one picking up. When I called and confronted them after leaving multiple voicemails they said they didn’t know why the pharmacy was calling… and then changed their story that they already called them back. I literally spoke to the pharmacy seconds before confirming they were not in contact. Only after I threatened / promised to switch providers did they finally get my prescription resolved. Someone else wrote they had to dial this office and the pharmacy simultaneously to make sure this office would answer and be responsible. This was truly a headache.I can’t imagine coming here for something more serious… I would be terrified at just the sheer lack of responsibility and follow up.
After doing several weeks of research, I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Ho based the amount of reviews and just seemed aligned with what I was looking for.She had limited availability when I was searching in February, so the earliest appointment I could get with her was in May.I went to my appointment and waited 1.5 hours only to be seen by a completely different physician. She walked in and told me Dr. Ho wasn’t even in the office today. The physician said she was never supposed to be there’sIf the office knew she wasn’t there, why was I allowed to make an appointment with her? There was nothing wrong with the other physician, but I spent hours researching for the right OBGYN physician as I was planning to use Pure for the duration of my pregnancy, but I no longer feel safe to do so.I strongly advise Pure look into their internal operational system and update it. This was such a frustrating experience.
Lost my test results and I had to come back in for a second appointment. They promised to not charge me for the second visit, then I received a bill with charges for both visits. It took me two months of calling twice per week before it was resolved. Now they are not filling my prescriptions despite me calling and leaving voicemails and my pharmacy reaching out. Spare yourself the headache and go to an actual doctor.
Best gynecologist I’ve ever been to! I’m actually very surprised by all the negative reviews as I’ve never had any issues here before. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ve been dealing with symptoms for years, every gyno I’ve seen in the past brushed me off and tried to push birth control on me. This is the first time I’ve ever been to a gyno that takes my concerns seriously as well as diagnosed me correctly. I was diagnosed with PCOS and cervical polyps that I was able to have them removed in the office. All of the staff is great and are highly knowledgeable. I’m devastated that I had to switch insurances so that I can no longer go here, but they are the best.
At first, I was a patient at the Manhattan office. The doctor, nurses, and all other medical professionals were lovely. They all had good bedside manner and I remember thinking that when Im ready for a child, Id feel comfortable here. BUT I had too many issues with the receptionist, one in particular, with a BAD attitude. Im not one to name drop but she never sent my prescriptions on time, made it difficult for me to speak with Doc when I was concerned about my surgery and also made it difficult for me to get a doctors note for my school regarding the surgery (downtime would be 1-2 weeks).Im not paying money to have someone be rude to me every. single. time.So I switched to Brooklyn.Staff at the Brooklyn location is very organized and I get to see the same doctor. Even though it adds to my already long commute by 30 minutes, Ive been going to the Brooklyn office to avoid the disaster at Manhattan. Much better experience.
God this place is terrible. The only saving grace is Dr Palmer who is an unbelievably empathetic, real, and kind human being. Everyone else here makes it clear to you they don’t care and that this is a business first and foremost where money is #1 and patient care comes second. Further, the staff is aggressive and impatient. You say something they don’t like, they promptly tell you to just go somewhere else without looking to empathize and resolve the problem in a productive way.I’ve already submitted a formal complaint, but your anaesthesiologist has got to go. The first time I had a procedure done here, he fat shamed me. I won’t get into it further since I already spoke to the office. For my second procedure, he came into the room asking if I was still In pain. He told me he wouldn’t give me anything else, followed by ‘you’re not the only patient I’ve seen and I’ve done this before and if you want to leave then leave.’ Um, I’m coming down from anaesthesia in a recovery room and he wanted to be dismissive and escalate when all I said I was uncomfortable? The nurses are better at finding a vein, he had to stab me three times to find it so let’s check the ego. This is women’s care. Many of us come here with the most vulnerable of situations and are putting ourselves in even more vulnerable situations to get care. We are scared, we are exposed, we are emotional. If there is any place that should exude empathy and compassion, it’s an OBGYN. All of you need to go through some sort of training because Dr Palmer is the only reason I’ve come back and even that experience won’t keep me any longer.
Stole my money. My insurance is covered, they wouldnt see my wife because their billing department couldnt get in touch with my insurance. I called my insurance in FRONT of them. Then they said oh our billing department just closed so now we can’t call your insurance again. They charged me upfront, said theyd file the claim the next day and refund me. Its been 3 months. They havent filed the claim after multiple calls over months. Just called them on a recorded line to let them know that Ill be reaching out with lawyer next. Professionalism matters. Its not just about the doctors. Gotta treat your clients the right way. This place does not.
Awful with getting back to you. Went for my annual and was told to get an MRI. Went for an MRI two weeks later, the doctor never called me with the results. I called them twice they said they never received the results. Called where I had gotten the MRI they had sent it twice. This is now over a month and a half later, I have called now 5 times since to speak to Dr. Wu and she has only returned my call once and left a voice mail. This place is extremely unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. On top of it they send billing via text message with no description or line item for what you’re being billed for.
I almost never leave negative reviews, but the experience I had here felt unusually predatory with regard to billing. I went here for an average annual exam in the fall of 2019 -- I found them via ZocDoc by searching for providers that took my insurance. When I called to book my appointment, the receptionist verified that they took my insurance plan, and when I arrived for my appointment they verified again that they accepted my insurance. The wait was long, but the staff was very friendly, the office is lovely, and the services were fine. I ended up elsewhere for my following annual. Fast forward to fall of 2021, I received a voicemail from their office out of nowhere notifying me that they were sending my $933 bill to collections. I was shocked and called and emailed them immediately for clarity -- in their first explanation, they claimed that while they took my insurance when services were rendered, my insurance plan changed by the time they submitted the claim and my appointment was no longer covered, so I owed the entire bill. They also claimed that they had tried reaching me repeatedly through a portal with regard to this issue -- I was unaware of this portal and never received any written communication, emails, or phone calls from them. After asking for more information, their story seemed to change, and they said that at the time of my appointment they told me that they accepted some plans through my insurance company but did not specify whether they took mine, which seemed like a nonsensical explanation for why I was now encountering this unexpected bill. Calls to my insurance company were not helpful, I was sent in circles only to hear that the person trying to help me believed that my plan currently does not cover this office and that they had rejected a claim from this office in late 2019. I suppose in retrospect I should have verified with my own insurance company at the time that they would cover this practice, but I had found this practice by searching for doctors that took my specific plan, so when the office confirmed twice that they did, I didnt think to reconfirm with my insurance company. After going back and forth with this office for two months, I received an email last week (Jan 2022) from them, the language of which sounded as though we had never spoken -- something along the lines of, because all of our attempts at communication with you have gone unanswered, we are now sending your bill to collections. When I asked where this was coming from as we had quite obviously been in contact repeatedly over the course of two months, they offered to reduce my self pay bill to $400, which I agreed to pay in order to avoid having a collections headache. Ive never experienced anything like this -- the situation was exceptional even in a medical/insurance system already so difficult to navigate.
I accompanied a friend here on a Saturday for a procedure that required anesthesia. The office looks nice but they were loudly playing music that was explicit. Personally, I like the songs, just very strange in a doctors office. When we sat down there was a single man across the room. My friend grabs a mask and puts it on as she is having the procedure. I didnt see masks required posted anywhere, and I am not a patient. The receptionist loudly chastises my friend from across the room about bringing a mask instead of just addressing me personally. She then mumbles under her breath about thats why shes wearing one. Okay, I have no problem wearing a mask but found her attitude odd since the man sitting across did not have one on.My friend goes back for the procedure and I hear the receptionists talk condescendingly to another woman about her husband waiting in the car and the same treatment to multiple callers on the phone. The Physician seemed very nice as well as the nurses, but I found the front desk extremely rude and would never go here simply for their attitude. Perhaps its the Saturday crew but there is no reason to have such a hateful attitude towards patients.
Terrible experience. Front desk is rude, abrupt and rushed me from the moment I walked in. The medical assistant had the same attitude and made it very clear that it was inconvenient for her that she had to do my intake and that I took multiple medications that she had to input. Rushed me through the whole intake. I explained I was here for a specific concern and not a general well woman exam and was completely ignored and given a general exam anyway. Overall I was made to feel like an inconvenience here. The practice is not even remotely size inclusive. I am not an exceptionally large person but the paper gowns they provide are so minuscule it’s humiliating and leaves you completely exposed unless your a size 2. The doctor was also rude and fatphobic. She spent so long lecturing me about how I should be handling my medical care for issues outside her expertise and lecturing me about my diet (which she assumed entirely based on how I look because she did not ask me what my diet was like) that she completely forgot to address my concern. She was getting ready to leave the room when I had to ask her if she was going to do anything abt my concern at which point she haphazardly took some samples and then left. Don’t ever go here but especially don’t go here if you’re a person of size or a person of color. Horrendous experience.
FYI. They stop seeing patients at 5:00pm, not 6:30pm. I needed something that was time sensitive and they wouldn’t take me and were snarky towards me when I showed up after 5pm.
I love the doctors here, theyre so kind & trusting. However, its the receptionists & nurse practitioners that are making me leave this practice.I got bloodwork done and it was a nurses first day, she stabbed me 3x with the needle and was unsuccessful. 4th time needle went in but she didnt hold it and the needle popped out of my arm and blood literally squirted all over us bc she admitted to using the wrong needle and it had burst my veins. I tried to brush this incident off but honestly my experience today did it for me.I got a really bad UTI yesterday, you know how painful those are! They were able to squeeze me in yesterday which is amazing bc I wanted to start the medication straight away. Its now day 2 and no medication bc my pharmacy was out of stock. Thats fine, not Pures fault. But the receptionist was so rude and unhelpful when I called explaining my situation and if I could find a different pharmacy that has it in stock because Im in so much pain and because Im delayed on the meds, now I have a fever. Not to mention the countless times Ive been promised a phone call/follow up that never came. Its so important for me to have a team of healthcare professionals that treat me with kindness & understanding. Sad to accept that I have to find a new doctor. This place aint it!
I started going to this practice when I found out I was pregnant. I found the staff to be professional and the doctors to be kind. The offices were very clean in all three locations I visited Madison Ave, Flatiron, and Park Slope. I never waited very long to be seen. The sonogram techs are great and the machines are as well so you can clearly see your baby. You are encouraged to see many doctors because whoever is on call will be there to deliver your child…Because of this, I don’t think the office has an efficient way of getting back to you quickly. I had concerns about test results as well as physical symptoms I was experiencing and it could be hard to get an answer quickly.I ended up having an extremely high risk pregnancy and switched practices because I needed to have access to a doctor that I could coordinate with in case of emergency.I would return to this office for regular care.
PLEASE READDO NOT GO AT ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL KEEP BILLING YOU EVEN IF YOU ALREADY PAID. PLEASE REPORT THEM TO THE BBB IF YOU ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.On 10/8/23 I went to their office for an annual exam. I was informed that I would have to pay for labs. Which I did in the office on the same date at exactly 11:40am with a debit card. I have proof of payment and receipt I received from the office. I reported them on 12/14/22 to the BBB and according to a public BBB database they alleged this issue has been resolved and the billing will be stopped. However they wait months later to send another bill. I didn’t forget and I keep receipts for this exact reason. I even called the insurance company who confirmed they made a payment as well. At this point I feel like they are trying to get me to pay for services I already paid for which I would assume is illegal. I will continue to fight this bill and I will never return to this office.
I had called with a concern and did not receive a return call back for 4 days. I was told by the doctor that she had a stomach bug and was therefore not by her computer or phone. I felt every appointment was rushed and they seemed to dismiss the one concern I had. Personally, I did not feel comfortable with me or my baby being treated by this practice. I am so thankful that I switched even though it was late in the game (at 20 weeks); it was the best decision I made for me and my son. We used Dr. Georges Sylvestre who I highly recommend.
Unprofessional and overall a waste of your time. They never pick the phone, they don’t respond to emails or voicemails. We had tests done over 6wks ago and they haven’t even called about the results so the lab sent them to us directly.Go anywhere else
I had the worst experience of my life going to this medical facility. I was pregnant and they ignored my concerns. I was in labor with high blood pressure, I called the office over and over again until I spoke to the doctor who was on call. He told me to wait at home and come to the office on Monday. I had the baby that Sunday night and no one from the office showed up for the delivery. The office staff is extremely rude. I am an African American female and I was not treated fairly. My concerns where pushed under the rug. I was even told by one office staff member if I know the price to have a baby with one of there doctors. Something I was not concern about because I have great insurance working for the city of NY. If you are African American they will ignore you!
Ive had two visits so far and my third one coming up next week. Ive enjoyed my visits so far as the staff and Dr. Becker have been really great. The nurses are nice and very professional. Dr. Becker is awesome as she not only takes her time explaining things to you but also listens. The facility is clean, bright and I felt relax when Im sitting in the waiting room. Im glad to have found Pure OBGYN and having them be a part of my pregnancy.
The idiots at this office couldnt even figure out a simple birth control prescription. When it came time for a new pack, they cancelled my usual brand for a new one and denied doing so, until I put them on the phone directly with my pharmacy. Once we identified the issue, I thought all would be fine but they continued to get it wrong every time. I do not recommend this office at all. Front desk extremely uninterested, rude, and unhelpful as well.
While the doctors and nurses of Pure OBGYN are great, the practice has shady billing practices that I do not agree with. After a year of a service that I expected to be fully covered by my insurance, Pure sent me a bill asking that I pay $350. The bill was due to the fact that I had an unneeded ultrasound done and was not verbally told that I would be charged for it. After 5 months of repeatedly calling their office and billing department and demanding to speaking with someone they were able to reduce my bill to about $200. If you have the money to spend, feel free to go to Pure but if you want access to affordable healthcare and ethical billing practices, find another practice to visit.
Do not ask for Dr. Nicole Palmer, money hungry does not care about your questions, rushes you always in a hurry, been in the room for 5 mins (including changing). The staff is always rude and have a RBF, we women who come in who are pregnant dont need that vibe.
Horrible experience. “Most compassionate”OB care is a joke. Showed up with my partner 3 min after the grace period due to a subway delay and they wouldn’t see her.
Everyone in the office is very nice and you feel welcoming soon as you walk in the door.Dr. Alexander is an amazing doctor. He’s a true professional and easy going. He listened to everything I had to say also answered all my questions and gave me the answers I was looking for. He did my Procedure explained the procedure to me an made sure I felt comfortable. The medical assistant staff were great and she was so nice and have a loving warm smile she made sure I was comfortable before my procedure. And after my procedure she offer me medication and water as well as some hot tea to smooth out the pain and boy did it Work. I’m so grateful I found this gynecologist especially being new to the City from California. I will be making this facility my permanent gynecologist. Thank you for such great guest service . . PURE OBGYN is an amazing office Both Brooklyn and Manhattan location and I highly recommend this place of practice.
I would NOT recommend this place. I went once for an appointment in 2021 and the doctor made it seem like she was super accessible. She doesnt respond even though she gives you her number and encourages you to reach out.Im now in a debt collection service and my credit will be affected so BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. In NYC - how could you use a doctors that doesnt send you any notices and only one email about a bill? Also it was a check up. WHY do I even have a bill?I went in July 2021 and got ONE email about a bill in Sept 2021 and that was it. Ive I just called Pure OBGYN and they let me know they dont do any paper statements, did not have my address on file AND mixed up my phone number by one digit. Ive never written my phone number wrong on the paper so it was Pure OBGYNs error.Stay clear of this place and go to more traditional places like weill cornell that actually follow a process and dont have shady practices of sending one email in 2021 just to end up in collections in 2023.
I saw Dr Lowe and have had a lot of trouble getting any access to her post appointment. My pharmacy never got the prescription they sent — I’ve called the office 4x today and they still haven’t sent it yet because “they’re short staffed.” I also never had a chance to speak with the nurse about my test results. I missed the initial phone call (went to voice mail) and then called back every day for a week but couldn’t get access to anyone.
Do not go here…I had hoped for better given the many positive reviews but the office is a disaster. You’ll end up having to chase down your own test results and nobody follows up on basic care plans as they say they will unless you write in to complain. The doctors themselves are fine but the practice is too disorganized for it to matter, unfortunately. Appointments feel rushed as well.
I visited this practice for preventive care in 2022, but unfortunately, Ive been billed for services that I did not actually receive. It appears that their billing processes are outsourced. When I reached out to Elizabeth from the billing department regarding this matter, she stated that they are unable to assist and advised me to get in touch with the office manager. However, upon contacting the office manager, I was directed back to the billing department. This back-and-forth has been incredibly frustrating and to make matters worse, Ive even been threatened with the possibility of my case being sent to collections from Olga S. The experience has left me quite dissatisfied and concerned about their customer service and communication.
My doctor‘s visit was fine but I’ve been trying to get my prescription changed for weeks. I’m told I’ll hear back in X amount of days, by the end of day, etc and nothing. So frustrating.
Pure OBGYN is a clean and beautiful space. The front desk staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The nurses made me feel comfortable and calm during the exam and shots. Dr. Ho was timely, thoughtful, and careful in her recommendations. I am so grateful to have found a comfortable space in the city. Their walls are adorned by pictures of new borns and thank yous, which made it all the more special.
This office and staff are amazing. I see Marina and when I tell you I will not leave her for the WORLD!!!!! I will follow her to ANY office she is in to see her. Her bedside manners are great, she is someone you can be candid with and feel comfortable and not judged. They are always available and make time for you. The office is clean and they do not make you sit and wait. I think I waited no more than 15 minutes, if that...I have been going here a few years after my previous GYN retired and I have NOTHING bad to say about this office! Thanks and keep up the great work.
Really sad overall experience because the actual doctor / place was great but I was unfortunately charged with a very large bill that I was not aware of. I asked the staff multiple times, during the appointment, to make sure the preventative care was covered by my insurance and was assured that it was. However, a few weeks later I was charged with a very hefty bill for things that I was told would not be an issue. I also tried to talk to the billing department and managers at the office for months to resolve these unfair charges but after months of explaining the situation have been forced to pay out of pocket. Other reviews seem to indicate the office is not well managed / a bit hectic so I would echo this. In my case it wasnt just a case of scheduling conflicts but a lot of lost money in a seemingly unfair manner. I would recommend just not going - its not worth it.
I had not been to the OBGYN in more years that I should truly admit but it was like over 7. I was nervous and really unsure what to expect, however it was great. The front desk was nice and patient with me. And, Dr Jaime was the best. She answered my questions made me feel comfortable and the post communication has been wonderful as well.
Never calls you back. When they call you and you miss it, you have to call them back and then they wont even call you immediately and you have to get back in line before they call you again. Essentially, playing phone tags for you precious medical record. Their system does NOT work. Wont release your results for over a year, especially if it is abnormal results. Very rude on the phone, and basically expected to chase your results and when i brought up my frustration, they said you should pick up your phone yet when i call back their medical assistant is always busy. Dont you think ppl have full time job and full life and they cant be on the phone 24/7 hoping they call back? It is their full time job to call pts, yet I cant even reach them. My 2021 pap smear, i did not get the results until my 2022 papsmear. Then now it has been 3 mos, and I still have not gotten my Abnormal results, what if I have cancer? This place needs to get sued, lawsuits is brewing given their not being on top of patients results, even when I begged them to release the results in the portant. Their rudeness and just unproffesionality. Had to wait hours to get seen often. I would really recommend you save your time and go elsewhere. Because I am not sure how hours I spent chasing results the last couple years and being spoken rude to on the phone. NOT WORTH IT.
Ive been visiting this facility(Madison Avene)for long time. However, the customer service has recentlydeteriorated.Ive been anticipating my testresults for quite some time.Ive called several times and have yet toreceive a call or an email.THIS COULD BEAN emergency, but they never contacted me. This is for my other doctors records and for me.But They are simply negligentwith their patients
I love this place! The practice is extremely well run and the staff, from front desk to sono to nurses, are very warm hearted. Dr. Guerra is my OB and I highly recommend her- she is friendly, thorough and always takes her time to listen to my concerns. I know my baby and I are well taken care of in this practice!
Steer clear of this place! They charged me for a service that was not needed then proceeded to harass me about payment after I asked them to tell me in the office how much everything would cost. They told me in person that all I needed to pay was my copay then sent me an extremely high bill months later. I tried calling the office SEVERAL times and no one answered the phone so that I could discuss my bill.
The office, bathroom, and patient rooms were clean. The reception room was calm, updated, and appealing. From reception to medical staff, everyone was prompt, pleasant, and patient. Dr. Vanessa Pinard, M.D. went over and beyond my original concern, and asked if I would like to complete other health checks as well. From my experience, this is an excellent medical facility.
Zocdoc says Dr. Ho accepts UnitedHealth but if you buy it from the marketplace, this office will not accept. Surely with a monthly insurance payment of $1800, its a good plan right? I dont see why the office wouldnt accept when they are accepting new patients.
Very nice + clean office but staff is unreachable. When you send an email they do not respond most of the time, and if they do its after you followed up once or twice. On the phone youre on hold for 15-20 min just to schedule an appt, ask a question, etc. Loved Dr. Vanessa Pinard but will likely switch offices due to not being able to reach their front desk for almost anything.
I love this office. My first visit years ago, they had mini cupcakes out for the patients. Now years later, it is still the same immaculately clean environment. The same friendly and knowledgeable staff. And I couldnt be happier with my experience (unless they brought the cupcakes back lol).Edit: Updating my review. I used to like this place. Ive been to all of their office locations. Madison location needs to be cleaned. The floors, the stirrups. Second, the turnaround time for forms is maddening. Went through an ordeal with them trying to get a sick form filled out [eventually had to return to the office to get it done]. Now I need a fmla form filled out because Im having surgery. Office told me 2 weeks. Which is too late and will be after the surgery is completed. I dont understand how it takes 2 weeks to complete a form I could fill out in 5 minutes or less. I find this policy to be completely ridiculous, and Im considering finding another obgyn, just so I dont have to deal with this. Once you start affecting my job or money, we have a problem.
This place is a mess. I’m a new patient and already have been rescheduled three times. First time, I was called at 8 AM the day of my appointment letting me know my appointment was cancelled due to the provider leaving the practice? Offered me another appointment to which was just cancelled because the provider isn’t going to be there anymore. I asked the lady on the phone why I keep being reschedule and she provided no answer. I told her the times I was being moved to wouldn’t work for me to which she answered a simple “okay” instead of offering different alternatives. I had to ask her if she was going to inform me of a different date and time considering that I don’t know the office schedule and she HUNG UP ON ME. As someone who has worked and is in the health care field, this is completely unprofessional. If it wasn’t for my insurance being accepted here, I would have never even consider actually coming in. I simply don’t recommend from the start. Praying my visit will make up for this.
This was my first time to Pure OBGYN. All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. I liked the chic vibe of the office setting. Dr Guerra is a great provider and felt like she covered all of my concerns. She talked me through everything with my exam which I appreciated as well. I will definitely make this my GYN and hopefully OB!
I really enjoy this group, but at ONLY the park slope location. They are empathetic and caring which can be super overlooked in doctor’s offices in general. Most importantly, I find that they treat me with respect and kindness every time I go, which is also hard to find as a young woman. I definitely recommend this group (I do to all my friends here in the city already)!I have not had the same positive experience at the other locations. In fact, I had a horrible experience at the Madison Ave location in particular. I was billed for things I specifically declined, and the doctor basically told me to wait and see! when I was presenting with symptoms such as severe pain (leading to vomiting) and constant abnormal bleeding. If youre not going to the park slope location, youre wasting your time.
Dr. Diana Ho at PURE delivered my first baby in March of 2022 and I am forever indebted to her. She was so incredible and is the sole reason my birth went smoothly. During such a stressful time, she motivated me perfectly during labor, did an amazing job with the delivery and helped get me back together afterwards. Without her, things would not have been so smooth. She was the perfect balance of coaching me through the delivery + caring for me. Her bedside manner was impeccable. I couldnt be more grateful for her and when I think back to my birth, I am filled with gratitude that she was the one delivering my baby!
Dr. Stephanie Pollitz was a godsend for me on one of the worst days of my life. After being through the run around of a NP elsewhere unable to perform an incision and drainage and other Obgyns unable to do the same procedure. I opted to wait a few hours to see Dr. Pollitz instead of taking myself to the ER.She explained to me clearly what procedure I was about to get done as well as what she was doing as it occurred. So much pain relief instantly. The office is also very beautiful and I look forward to coming back for a follow up appointment knowing I’ll be treated well. Thank you Dr Pollitz!
This was my first visit to this office and meeting with Dr.Yoo. From the moment I walked in to front desk to get checked in to getting my vitals done and being examined by the doctor everybody was so friendly and made me feel welcomed. I didnt have a long wait and the doctor took her time to talk to me and had a lot of resourceful information for me. The environment of the office made you feel very welcomed and relaxed.
Went to get my IUD changed and expressed my concerns to the doctors about the pain during the procedure. They gave me the option to be put under anesthesia for it, which I immediately said yes to. My procedure was today at 2pm, it is currently 5pm and I feel great! Dr. Nina Yoo was reassuring, kind, and very knowledgeable, leaving me knowing I was in great hands. The procedure was fast, I was knocked out by anesthesia so fast and it was so smooth and easy. They let me recover for a while afterwards until I was able to get dressed and leave with my escort. I can’t speak highly enough of my experience and I’m so happy to not have any residual pain or discomfort in the short hours afterwards.
The Dr. is good. However, the fat lady at the counter was very rude and impatient. She didnt explain the fee clearly. She insisted on extra chargeing me for the free examination. After the consultation, she found out that she did over charge but did not apologize and was unwilling to refund the money. There is a fat lady of other races(not African American or Asian American) at the counter who have serious racial discrimination.Recommending to strengthen staff education and training, the patient feels seriously offended.
If anyone goes to the Madison location. I repeat to do visit doctor Alexander Goncharov. He has no sympathy or bedside manners for patients at ALL. Everything is does is always a RUSH. He can be very overwhelming and harsh for no reason. I have visited him twice and the second visit wasn’t any better he just made my experience even worse. I would not recommend a visit with him at all. Trust me when I say that I am honestly telling the truth. If you see an OBGYN Doctor you want to know that the doctor has your be interest but with him he doesn’t care at all. You will just be another patient and it’s more money for the office with every visit that you make with him. Don’t do it.. If you don’t feel comfortable with your doctor please speak up or find another office that will treat you 100% better than he will.I am really straight forward and honest about my reviews. I hope the owner Dimitry Goncharov will have a sit down and talk with Alexander Goncharov about his unprofessional etiquette towards patients. Enough is enough.
Saw doctors here for many years, they used to be great until they became not, the two male doctors were very helpful and caring until I had to switch to a female doctor here, she was impatient, condescending when answered my medical questions, and the front desk has become unreachable, to reach someone or book any appointment within a reasonable timeframe also became near impossible. I guess they got too popular and seem understaffed. They also had trouble sending a medical record to a doctor and a prescription to my pharmacy; both times they claimed they sent but I had to follow up multiple times to get it done. I have permanently switched to another obgyn.
I had scheduled a procedure and had confirmed with their office the day before my appointment. On the morning of my appointment, they called me to inform me that they were out of the implant that I was supposed to receive and did not offer me any alternatives regarding rescheduling the appointment. When I reached out asking to reschedule, I received a curt response with a promise to contact me the following week. This never happened.I would not recommend visiting this practice if you are expecting quality and consistent care. It is very apparent that their staff have little to no respect for the well-being of patients.
Dr. Guerra is the sweetest and most caring doctor! She makes you feel very comfortable with her and she really cares about her patients. She always is patient and answers all of your questions. She is truly the best!!! As a whole everyone at this practice is very nice and thorough. Highly recommend!
I had a really awful experience and would not reccommend. I don’t usually post reviews but I feel the need to because I really don’t want anyone to go through the same experience. I booked an appointment for an annual visit which I called before to confirm was covered my my insurance which has a high deductible. The insurance and receptionist both confirmed. When the doctor came in I told her that I was coming in for my annual visit specifically. I got to the office and the doctor questioned me about my medical history in which i answered the questions to the best of my ability. One of the questions was whether I have any recurring issues. I answered yes, recurring UTIS and yeast infections. Which she then prescribed me medication which “could be taken as needed.” Following the appointment I got billed for hundreds of dollars. When I asked why the receptionist alerted me it was because the appointment was coded as a normal office visit even though I called prior and told the doctor I was coming in for and well woman annual check up because I couldn’t afford anything beyond. When I got to the appointment I expressed I can only afford what was covered by my insurance. They again confirmed I was coming in for an annual visit that was covered. I am in my early 20s and I’m guessing they thought I would be naive and just pay the bill, however I noticed it was coded incorrectly. I asked why and the receptionist said it was because I had a complaint (recurring UTIS) which I thought was an answer to the various check up questions that she had asked me. If I knew I would be charged hundreds of dollars I would not have “complained”. I did not know that answering a question about medical history was considered complaining. The next time I went back to the office for the second half of my so called check up that could not be completed the first time I expressed these concerns in person. The receptionist was arguing with me and out loud speaking about all of my medical problems and history in an office full of people which is in violation of HIPPA. As I got called into the room I overheard the receptionist say to the nurse “she has been here since five complaining about her bill”. The nurse laughed. I felt like I was being mocked for bringing up a concern. During my appointment I felt the nurse was was extremely abrasive and made me feel very uncomfortable during a gynecologist appointment which is already a nerve-racking doctor visit for a young woman. These details are personal and I will not share them here. I felt I was receiving different treatment based off concerns I was expressing. In the end, the office said to call the billing department who said that the office handles these matters. My insurance company said to take the issue up with the office and the office said to take it up with insurance company. So basically sent me in circles. I feel extremely mininformed and taken advantage of.At the end of the day it I became exceedingly clear this practice is a business and could not care less about the physical, financial, and emotional well-being of their patients.
The office was beautiful, comfortable, safe, and clean. There was almost no wait time. Dr. Guerra took the time to listen and address my concerns and the appt. didnt feel rushed at all. She had great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable which can inherently be quite tricky in this specialty given the circumstances. I would highly recommend Dr. Guerra and this office to others.
Dr. Ho incorrectly told me that my pregnancy was ectopic and needed to be removed. This was based on blood work alone (my pregnancy was too early to see adequately on ultrasound). She told me (incorrectly) that no ultrasound was needed; the pregnancy was definitely either ectopic or nonviable solely based on the blood work.Luckily, a different doctor wanted to check an ultrasound. I currently have a perfectly healthy 5 month old baby boy, and I am horrified whenever I think of what could have happened if I went in to see her for the methotrexate treatment to remove my “ectopic” pregnancy. I would strongly recommend you go elsewhere for your prenatal care.
Sadly, my experience was terrible. My appointment was at 2:00. I did not leave the facility until about 4:45. For a solid 45 minutes I was left in a room to wait on being seen w/o any idea how much longer it might take or any update at all. I was told that this was not a common experience for this facility, but the location felt overwhelmed. When I finally was seen, I was asked the same questions by the doctor that Id answered with the nurse technician which felt redundant and like it took up more time when my answers were already logged.I never received my link to register in advance of the appointment through the health portal (which may have saved on time). The toilet paper roll in the bathroom was unhinged and sitting on the handicap railing (meaning that everyone who wanted to use that roll had to touch it with their hands and whatever was on it). The receptacle to receive the urine samples was over full - at least 15 specimen cups waiting to be retrieved. Even the trash in the room where I was waiting was so full the lid couldnt shut.As far as the actual consultation, I left feeling like I needed to have more discussions elsewhere about my goals and what I was looking to accomplish and my options. And I got a parking ticket because I was overtime in the space I was able to find and couldnt leave to re-up on account of being basically naked in an exam room for just under an hour. When I got my labs back I reviewed them - and after telling not only the nurse tech but the doctor herself the list of meds I was allergic to (not just a little allergic but go into anaphylactic shock from) the labs read “no active allergies”. The level of attention to detail and concern is sorely lacking. I won’t be returning. Happy for those who have had better experiences but you should also know that this kind of experience is also possible with them. (THIS IS FOR THE BROOKLYN LOCATION)
I have been looking for a GYN provider ever since my old doctor retired some years ago. It was my first visit but it will not be my last. Excellent first impression! I was very pleased with the wait time, the professionalism and friendliness of all staff, the cleanliness and ambiance of the office, and of course the courtesy, knowledge, and bedside manner of Dr. Mbaye. Wholeheartedly recommend her.
Pleasant staff, warm, friendly, knowledgeable and they keep you informed as to the procedures that they will be completing. I can not speak on the other drs in the office BUT I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Schultis. She is well informed and open to sharing her recommendations and context to her suggestions. She is open to discussing findings as well as makes herself available after the visit if you need additional information. The office space its self is clean, the rooms are clean and well prepped prior to your visit. This is a place that I would recommend.
Office staff was pleasant and I was able to schedule an appointment the next day (red flag?). Wasnt impressed with the doctor I saw, Dr. St Hilaire. I mentioned a few complaints that she didnt write down in my chart. She also wrote down that I refused a procedure (ultrasound). This was an error: I was never offered the option to get it done. My insurance would have covered it at no extra cost, but now I have to pay over $100 to get it done separately. Not a big deal, but would have preferred a doctor who is more accurate and attentive. Office manager who followed up with me was friendly and apologetic.
Dr. Jamie is great. Ive felt she was professional and attentive. The staff she works with lack professionalism. I was told via phone and e-mail to call urgently regarding test results. When I tried to get in touch about 15 minutes later, I received no response. The front desk staff wouldnt tell me when the person was likely to call me back and lacked any sort of empathy that the matter regarded a patients health or the stress that such a phone call would cause someone. I dont trust them to handle my medical information or deliver sensitive results to patients in a timely manner.
All staff except one girl at at the front desk is very accommodating. She usually sits in the middle, doesn’t say hello or thank you after receiving payments. She has a resting frowning face. I still go here with the easy scheduling and the doctors are easy to talk with. The office though should get another person who has great customer service skills especially for the front desk.
It was a great experience! Dr. Mbaye was patient in taking the time to listen to me as well as explaining herself. She made sure I understood what the next steps would be. The front desk staff was friendly and the wait time was minimal. Definitely a huge step up from the last practice I went to!
One of the few offices i actually dont drag going to. They take a great of you, make you feel comfortable and very very nice. All my concerns have always been addressed as well as any questions. Great office, and Dr.Becker is amazing.
I love my OB Dr. This practice has an incredible staff, they always greet me with a smile and remember me by name. They are all into doing things natural and low section rate. I never felt like their interest were conflicting mine. My birth experience was amazing, I couldnt have asked for better Dr to be by my side. Unfortunately Im moving to a difference state and Im so sad to leave this practice behind.
Love the doctors here but the front desk/office staff is very disorganized. My pharmacy was contacting them for a week trying to refill my prescription and no one ever called them back. After calling the office a total of 3 times myself, the correct prescription was finally sent over. If something as easy as a prescription cant get sent over to my pharmacy in a timely manner, Im not going back here
Everyone in the office is very nice and you get a welcoming ambiance as soon as you walk in the door. If you have concerns about anything , they will usually have you come in , and if not they will have either a doctor or MA call you back within the hour if it’s not necessary to come in. All the doctors are very nice and Dr Guerra is amazing and she has a very holistic approach when it comes to her patients. She doesn’t rush you or make you feel like just another patient. She answers all your questions without making you feel like an imbecile. She takes her time and she goes above and beyond. I highly recommend Dr.Guerra to anyone looking for an OBGYN. PURE OBGYN is an amazing office and I highly recommend this place of practice.
While I had a good experience with the doctor. Its been a nightmare getting accurate results information. My profile has wildly inaccurate information about my results and file and despite the promise to have someone call you back, they do not! Ive been calling since last week and no one has given me a call back.To add to the frustration I get through to a staff member and she decides after a 3 minute conversation of her not being helpful to just hangup. I cannot deal with how unprofessional the staff is. How do you explain inaccurate information on a patients medical file as a glitch?! How do you not fix this glitch and just keep using this as an excuse. This is unbelievable.Im currently sitting on hold with this place and Im sure they are just waiting out the hold and will not get back to me. I will not be back her given this experience.
It was my first visit to a dr in some time. They made me feel comfortable despite the fact that I almost passed out a few times. They had smelling salts ready thank goodness. The Dr. was nice. I wanted a certain issue addressed and pointed it out she first said it was nothing until I insisted that she take a closer look which she did and assured me not to be worried. I will be making another appointment here in the future.
Used this practice for my first pregnancy. What a mistake that was. This practice doesn’t even attempt to hide their money grubbing behavior.I was 30, no health concerns, and nothing high risk. Every single time I stepped foot in that office they did an ultrasound. They did so many scans that at one point my insurance audited them! We had to confirm that yes we actually received these ultrasounds on all of these datesThey used these ultrasounds to try to scare us rather than comfort us. Focused on a .0001% chance of something and sending us on a goose chase to confirm it was ok. For example, at 37.5 weeks pregnant they sent me to a high risk doctor for my baby’s small head circumference. That doctor was shocked they sent me at all. She said “you must have good insurance..they’ve done twice as many scans on you as we do during a healthy low risk pregnancy. Your baby is fine and coming any day now”. He did 4 days later. Perfectly healthy, no Microcephaly.Delivery was fine because I had my doula to help me speak up for myself and avoid unnecessary interventions. The doctors themselves are just ok, some much better than others. There are 5 delivering doctors so there’s no point forming a relationship with any of them anyway. Despite all the ultrasounds they never took the time to really discuss my questions or concerns.Front office staff at this location were consistently rude. Flatiron location staff were pleasant. The only positive for the entire practice is that they were usually on timeWon’t even go here again for a pap let alone a pregnancy
I went to my 6 week postpartum visit with anxiety levels through the roof, and left already feeling better. Dr. Schultis made me feel heard, cared about and immediately worked with me to create a plan of action to help me. She shared suggestions, but never made me feel pressured to go with one route or another. She put all my concerns at ease with compassion, and some needed humor. HIGHLY recommend.
It is definitely hard to find a gynecologist to stick with for life but I can honestly say I think I found just that with Dr. Jaime Schultis. I had not gone to a GYN for more than 7 years and was very uneasy of getting a Pap smear again not to mention the dozen questions I had regarding changing my contraception. I had read reviews so I expected a good experience but was given more than that. The whole process was easy not rushed even though I had a late appointment I was treated as if I were the very first patient and every check up possible was done Pap smear, breast exam, medical history review, ultrasound (both types) and consultation. Dr. Schultis was so personable and Informative you feel completely at ease and not shy of asking just about anything. I have my iud insertion scheduled for this coming Friday a bit nervous but I know I am in good hands. I highly recommend her and her staff are just amazing. Forgot to mention clean, cute office and professional staff especially the ultrasound tech she was also great made me feel comfortable in circumstances such as a gym visit. Thanks.
All of the doctors here are great!! Dr Guerra put in my IUD. I was so scared walking into the appointment and she was amazing through the process. It barley hurt and no cramps or pain afterwards.. I was shocked. They also do an ultrasound to make sure it’s in place, not sure if everyone does this but it made me feel better. Extremely clean facilities and very nice staff all around. Very efficient. I’ve also seen Dr. Schultis who is great and super nice!!
PUREOBGYN was amazing! My experience was great considering it was my first time at a gynecologist. Dr. Rosenthal was super helpful, she walked me through the procedures that needed to be done and also have me helpful recommendations. I felt really comfortable at a safe space. I would definitely recommend! I’m happy I found a gynecologist that I would go to for everything! The staff were super friendly. The application process was quick and easy. The place was clean. Everything was great!
Seamless & pleasant experience from start to finish. The entire staff was helpful, answered all my questions and made me feel welcomed & comfortable. I had an IUD re-insurtion and Dr. Becker was AMAZING. she was calming and fast making a not so comfortable experience, easy. Thank you!!
They are very clean and very professional. I was able to make an appointment for the next week and i asked them if I can fill out all documents before my appointment and they allowed me. The front desk nurses were very approachable. The doctor named JAMIE SCHULTIS, I had was very caring and very informational. She put her personal option and also stated many examples for different possibilities
Beautiful clean office with welcoming staff. I had an appointment with Dr. Schultis for an annual visit and was very pleased. She made me feel very comfortable and was thorough and caring. I will continue to see her as my primary gyn and highly recommend her.
Nurse had trouble getting blood and ended up switching an arm. front desk lady vanessa was very rude and when i was on a work meeting and had to miss their call, when i called back she said “just try to pay attention to your phone”. i’m sorry but some people actually can’t take calls at all times. when i visited in person the doctor said results will be available the next day but it’s been 3 days and I still don’t have my medications. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
I am a new patient. My experience was great., much better than my last Gynecologist that is not part of this practice. She listened gave feedback and explained everything I needed to know. Glad I found such a great doctor.
DR. Woodbury was great. She is very kind and she explains everything in detail. She asks you if you have any questions before leaving the office. Great bedside manners. Everyone in that office is great. They are all kind and helpful. The office is super clean and organized and they follow the protocols for covid safety.
I came in a MORE THEN three weeks ago to see Dr. Yoo - who was nice and seemed knowledgeable. However, after the appointment there has been no follow up or patient care, I have left VM to get a call back last week for insight to my test results and have not gotten any response. I called again today, so hopefully someone calls me back.
The space is beautiful, Dr. Ashley Becker was great in person but unfortunately I never heard back from them and my lab results have seemed to gone missing. I have a bill, but no results. Ive been looking for a good OBGYN for 3 years, and was so excited when I met Dr. Becker. I have PCOS and it needs to be monitored closely, so I went for an initial appointment at the end of June with several blood work tests. Ive called numerous times, written numerous emails, and every time the receptionist says she will have to get back to me. I still dont know the results of blood work that happened in June, and honestly I am baffled by how theyve handled, or rather miss-handled my medical information. I am super sad, frustrated, and stressed out. If you want your medical results, dont go here because Ive never gotten mine nor do they seem to know what I am talking about....but dont worry I have the bill to prove it happened :(.
I really loved the place so much!I have been looking for a good doctor for a while, and instead I found a GREAT doctor! Very gentle and friendly, detailed answers to all my questions! The office is also very clean and the front desks girls, especially Jacqueline and Rachel are very helpful and friendly!
I seen Dr. Schultis. She was amazing and we connected right away. She was patient understanding and most of all very thorough. I am in search of a new gynecologist due to the fact my primary doctor retired. I think I’ve found her replacement. My wait time was minimal which I loved. Highly recommended I definitely will be back.
Dr. Nicole Palmer was amazing, she made me feel comfortable even though I’m very insecure about my health issues. She was very thorough and helped me look for alternatives to help treat my PCOS! Found my new OBGYN
Such a beautiful office with a friendly staff!Wait times were minimal and were in and out.Still need time to establish relationship with the doctor to review, but overall friendly and felt comfortable.
Got lucky and found this place on Zocdoc, they were able to accommodate me last minute and right by my home. I felt right at ease when I walked in, it was clean, modern and spacious - not crowded at all. I was seen right away by the doctor who was very knowledgeable. Impeccable facility and I will be back - this will now be my go to OBGYN.
Dr. Schultis was so warm and kind. I really appreciated her bedside manner and willingness to be very helpful with all of my requests. The staff was also really friendly. Such a pleasant visit for a never pleasant check up : )
Incredible nurses and doctors. Both offices are great, very clean, and spacious. Marina Kuperman is excellent! The nurses all work very hard to make you feel comfortable during your visits. There’s a technician named Lauren that I always enjoy working with. She’s very profressional and helpful.
The nurse and Dr Jamie Schultis were really nice and professional but the receptionists were TERRIBLE. They need to properly train their receptionists because they did absolutely NOTHING. If your clinic has technical issues and in major delay, why didn’t the receptionist inform me? Why didn’t they call to see if we’re willing to reschedule? No question was asked at the front desk, no information was given, no ETA, nothing.
The receptionists are incompetent and I waited over an hour to see the doctor and I left work early to make the appointment. The doctor was really nice and explained that it was because she was dealing with someone who going to be in labor soon. Would have been nice to be told this while I was sitting there in the waiting room.
I like Dr. Schultis, but the office staff is the worst. First they couldn’t locate my chart. Then, they sent the wrong prescription to my pharmacy. Once the correct prescription was sent, they refused to submit the Prior Authorization paperwork for my prescription. The front desk staff was pretty rude about the whole thing. I just ended up using NURX for my prescription, and they were amazing. NURX was able to get me the right prescription, submit the Prior Authorization, and deal with the insurance.
The only bad word I can say is that my wait was a bit long, but I was at the end of the day. Overall the staff were great, friendly, informative. Dr. Schultis was friendly, gentle, made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated the neutral and non-judgemental questions and general attitude. I will definitely be coming back when I need to. 5-star medical experience.
Clean office and they expanded the Midtown location since I was last there, didnt wait too long past my original appt. time, probably :20 past which is better than most. doctors and nurses are all attentive and will go in depth with answers to any concerns/questions.
Horrible experience before I even got to the office. I had confirmed my appoint online via their portal two days prior to my appointment, with less than an hour before my appointment they proceeded to call me 12 times in the span of 3 minutes, leaving messages that only said please answer your phone. Thinking there was something wrong, I had to walk out of a work meeting to call them back for the girl who answered to tell me they needed me to confirm my appointment. She was horribly rude and unhelpful. Needless to say I told her she could cancel my appointment as I would not be going. If thats what their staff and customer service are like over the phone, I dont even want to experience what theyre like in person.
When I arrived at Pure OBGYN I was in excruciating pain. I coulee hardly walk due to a cyst and I ended up needing a small procedure. Dr. Tou was fantastic at explaining the procedure and I felt like I was in great hands. It was such an emotional whirlwind and a lot of physical pain but I did feel better afterwards. I would recommend Pure OBGYN to any woman, but especially a young woman who is going through medical issues she never saw coming.
Dr. Woodbury, Dr. Mbaye, Dr. Tou, Dr. Guerra, and the entire staff of Pure OBGYN are so professional, thoughtful, thorough, and kind. I felt incredibly well taken care of from my very first visit, and am thrilled to have finally found an OB/GYN provider that not only treats patients as wonderfully as they do, but also takes a very wide range of insurance so Ill hopefully never have to switch again! Thank you to the whole team for A+ healthcare.
I am so appreciative of the doctors and staff at Pure OBGYN. They were extremely professional, courteous and communicative throughout a recent process of determining and further examining a health issue I was experiencing. I definitely recommend this practice for anyone seeking trustworthy & competent practitioners & staff :)
This group is horrendous. They are extremely financially motivated. I only recommend if you need a birth control prescription. The doctors and the admin team are on completely different pages. They billed me for an annual but did not provide an exam.
I went to the Manhattan location and had DrTou Cheng. Horrible!!! Im pregnant i would ask her common questions that you are suppose to ask your doctor and she would not answer them (what prenatal vitamins would she recommend what food should i avoid how should i handle stress / sadness so it won’t affect my pregnancy). She would answer take any vitamin, there is no food you can avoid etc. She told me my next exam was an NT scan i asked her to explain it and she explained it in two words. Basically wanted me out the door. I have no idea what other exam I need to take etc. I get the results for my nine blood test and can’t read all the results on the website portal. So I call and let the rep know if someone can call me to go over the result. Dr Cheng calls me. Goes over everything super fast. I don’t complain or say anything just listen. Then the call loses connection and I ask her “please repeat the last result i missed it due to connection issue” she got mad and told me normally she calls her patients to give them bad results not good ones that they go to the portal and she only calls patients upon request. So i told her yes Idid check the portal and some of the test results I don’t understand and I did request for a call. I’m never coming back here again she was extremely rude. I went to a women place. Wow that a different experience. I was provided a booklet with answers to common questions (and guess what my questions were on there and more) and a list of exams and what they mean as i progress in my pregnancy. They also even provided a video About the next test i would take. Then the doctor took me to another room and sat down with me to discuss any questions i had. I only had one since the booklet had so much answer. What a completely different experience. Please do not come here if you are pregnant please go to a women place for the attention you and your baby (babies) deserve.
Dr. Guerra takes the time to answer all questions and doesn’t make you feel rushed. She’s very thorough and friendly. Unfortunately two of my other OBs no longer work there but all the doctors seem to have a pretty cohesive system so I’m not worried about my childbirth.
After 24 years, Ive found my go-to Obgyn for the rest of my life. This is the place to go to if you want doctors who care about you, remember your + your health conditions, spend time with you, and feels like a family that youre going to. The doctors can be a scary place (I used to get pretty anxious going), but Pure OBGYN makes it not scary at all anymore. They also wont make you undergo unnecessary procedures (which I appreciate immensely). As an unusually un-trusting person, I trust Pure which says a lot.For as long as I stay in New York & the Northeast, I will keep going to Pure and I absolutely love them!I highly recommend Dr. Ashley Becker! She is always so positive and smiley, which makes you feel positive & smiley. The whole team is great, though, and Ive met Dr. Goncharav as well & would recommend him too.
First impression was great! No complaints whatsoever. The staff was helpful and friendly. Wait time was minimal. Doctor’s bedside manner was superb and she seemed very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
Dr. Schultis’ bedside manner was one of the best I have experienced. I recently visited the office for an appointment that I was not looking forward to. Dr. Schultis’ explanations were very easy to understand, and overall, it felt less clinical and more therapeutic.
Update to my prior post, I just want to thank you all for being there throughout my whole pregnancy! I have gone to both offices (in the city and Brooklyn). Everyone is so caring and just want to make sure you are taken care of. They can see you same day if you have any issues, and the offices are super clean, modern and up to date. Special thank you to Marina, Dr. Alexander, Vee, and Lana I saw you all the most throughout my pregnancy and really made me have an amazing pregnancy expierence! Thank you again for everything.
The Madison location of PureOBGYN feels like walking into a spa. You can feel the intentionality in the design and decor, with the office and staff going the extra mile to make its patients feel relaxed and at ease. NP Rosenthal was a pro - accommodating, informative and overall had a very chill vibe. It was hands down, the best OBGYN visit Ive probably ever had... From the front desk help, to the nurse assistant, and yes again - the decor - it was - dare I say this - A NICE visit. Thanks yall!
I had a consultation with Dr. Mbaye and she was amazing. She reviewed my history, listened carefully to my experience, and explained several options in detail. I left feeling like Id learned a lot. Im grateful for her patience, care, and advice. Ill be coming back.
I am horrified with this practice. They prescribed me the wrong medicine, are disorganized, and the miscommunication between doctors and receptionists invites high risks for their patients health. My Follow Up:Upon going to pick up my prescription, the pharmacist informed me that the order was never put through. Following up with Pure OBGYN, no one was able to locate my prescription or help me until I received a call back hours later from someone who I thought knew what they were doing.I went back to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions, and only one of the two was there. The other was sent to a random location I had not asked for. After taking one of my meds, I realized the unfamiliar name on the bottle, and called Pure OBGYN. They informed me they prescribed me this by accident and could not have cared less.It has been beyond frustrating working with them, and their lack of care for their patients was frightening and has ensured a no return from me. Extremely unprofessional, disorganized, unsettling and negligent.
Often a long wait time, but Dr Jamie Schultis is the best. Amazing bedside manner, super knowledgeable and friendly, and makes normally awkward situations totally comfortable. Difficult to get an appointment with her, book them a few weeks in advance bc her schedule fills up quick. She is the best in the city!!
I came to OBGYN for my regular and follow up checking. As a new comer to New York for temporary work, I was very nervous and unsure if I could totally understand the medical terms as English is my second language. Turnout it’s good and quick. Dr. Yoo is patience to explain and I don’t feel super nervous to have all those checking.
Dr. Nina Yoo is WONDERFUL - she makes a typically uncomfortable and awkward yearly womans exam fast, easy and not awkward at all. I highly recommend her for all preventative and yearly exams!! She’s also really nice and down to earth - you can ask her anything without judgment.
I truly recommend pure OBGYN! Doctor Nina was very nice and patient, helped me with all my doubts and concerns. The nurses also were very kind with me, people very well prepared. I am coming back for sure!!! :)
Went there to see PCP for annual check up. my insurance covers those visits 100%.however this office billed two visits in one claim - preventive visit and an office visit.when I asked them why do they charge me for an office visit they told me that we discussed fatigue during the visit and that is not covered during annual check up. that is nonsense, none of my previous PCPs would charge me for a visit if we discussed my general health during check up, that’s the whole point of those visits.I don’t recommend going to this office, it’s a scam
This office is very disorganized. While it may not be their intention, the disorganization, absence of systems for handling routine questions and issues that come up, and lack of urgency in correcting problems created by this disorganization gives the impression that your medical care and questions just arent all that important to them.
Amazing!!!! Very very short wait time, friendly staff, sweet and informative doctor. I was nervous because it was my first time and I tend to be a little shy around new people, but they made me feel so welcomed. Highly recommend this place! Will definitely come here again
I had an Emergency and needed to be seen ASAP! I googled GYN Providers to go to and this place popped up! I love the staff, doctors, etc. Everyone was so Friendly there that I have decided to make this my permanent GYN! I highly recommend that you give this place a shot! You’ll love it!
Dr. Mbaye has great bedside manner and I felt listened to. She made sure to answer all of my questions and concerns. Great experience. She will be my new regular gyn. The office is also clean and nice. Would recommend
This practice is a nightmare! Front desk is not professional and does not help for booking of appointment, confuses medical records and insurance information, etc.As for medical staff, ultrasounds are performed by nurses (are they actually nurses or simply technician?) who refuse to answer any question and with poor bedside manner (agressive and rude questions). As for the doctors, they are generally inexperienced and not much available (5-10mn to discuss!). They share very little info on the test results, are not actively communicating on the pregnancy evolution and rushed into hasty conclusions to recommend C-section.Clearly not a good practice for PREGNANT women : AVOID !!!
Truly the level of care and comfort this team brings is unmatched. I would highly recommend this obgyn facility to all my friends and family. I had a terrible experience at another group and when I came here I felt so comforted from the entire staff including the doctors
Office staff was helpful and friendly. Doctor was amazing, walked me through and answered all the questions I had. Extremely professional and sensitive to the nature of the procedures she conducts.
Very professional and kind staff. Appointments are always on time. Scheduling is easy and they always have a good amount of availability. Equipment is new, office space is nice.Highly recommend.
Its shame that the customer service is horrible since the doctors themselves are great. Theyre not up front about cost and when asking for assistance they give you the run around. It took multiple emails and phones calls, they admitted they were changing labs because the current one is awful and then I still ended up having to deal with a separate lab because I couldnt get a timely response.
Doctor Christopher is awesome, explaining everything clearly and tell me what i might be having. Even tho I am concerning about the bill and he help me on the blood work to only test what he thinks i needed. nurse is great and patient. Except the lady at reception counter, they are a little sloppy
It is wonderful to find a Primary Care Physician and an OB/GYN, both of whom are attentive and communicate well AND take my insurance in the same office. Every support staff member, be they receptionist, nurse, technician or phlebotomist was kind and helpful as well. Also, it is nice not to have to go to a second office to have a sonogram...they do it right there!
I read reviews on Yelp before I booked my first appointment, and it was exactly as described. Dr. Dimitry Goncharov does not sugarcoat anything. He is definitely a realist, in my opinion. Unlike other doctors, masking a medical condition/problem with medication does not seem to be his preference. He focuses on eradicating the problem entirely, which is a rare characteristic in any doctor nowadays. I am usually very skeptical about medical professionals, especially OBGYNs, but I will definitely be returning for a second visit.
From the receptionist to my doctor Marina Cooperman, the experience as a whole, is always beautiful. I feel so comfortable in the environment and throughout my entire visit with doctor Marina Cooperman. I will recommend this office to anyone! You wont be let down, thats for sure.
The receptionist is not helping at all, and they had no patient to talk to you if you has questions to ask. Also I had scheduled an appointment with Dr Jamie Schultis, and they called me a day before said there will be another doctor to see me, which they didnt tell me when I schedule with them. Ive been there 5 times, and Ive been see 4 different doctors already, doctor never works for the schedules.
I love it here! Dr Schultis is the best. She’s very gentle and informative. Extremely clean offices at both locations. The young women who work there are also very polite and helpful so happy I chose Pure this time around!!!
Dr. Guerra and her nurse made me feel so comfortable. I have recommended them to all my friends. I will definitely continue going back. They answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable with my decision.
Dr Lowe was great. Kind, personable, and professional.
AVOID THIS PLACE! The first time I filled in request appointment form on their website, nothing happened. Second time, made an appointment for after 7pm through zocdoc, still nobody called to confirm my appointment. 10mins before I leave for the appointment, thought I’d call to make sure. Guess what? They were already closed! I don’t understand why they would even allow that time slot to be available for booking on zocdoc...
Staff is incredibly rude to me and to other patients. Called back in regards to a voicemail about my test results and they had no information on me. Will be going to a different OBGYN.
I am very happy with the care that was provided at PureOBGYN. Dr. Federico was very gentle, patient, informative, and understanding and resolved my issue. The staff was very nice and there was not a long wait. I would highly recommend him!
Dr. Samantha Lowe was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. She answered all my questions confidently and patiently. The wait time was so quick and I felt very comfortable!
Dr. Nina Yoo is a mediocre OB-GYN physician and a disastrous human being. A person who doesn’t have additional 10-15 minutes for her patient, especially for the one in emergent need, shouldn’t be a medical doctor. If anything happens to me until I get adequate medical care, I will not only sue Dr. Nina Yoo for negligence but this office as well.
I had to wait a very long time for my procedure (but very short wait times for regular appointments.) Overall, everyone on staff seems knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Pure.
Dr. Schultis was extremely knowledgeable and had great bedside manner. She made me feel very comfortable during the visit and answered all my questions. Would highly recommend her!
Dr. Woodbury and the staff were amazing. No wait, and they had a level of care that was exceptional. She made sure I had all my questions answered. Highly recommend.
Dr. Schultis was great! I have been going to PureOBGYN for years now, and although I have liked the other doctors and nurse practitioners I have met with, I especially liked Dr. Schultis. Will be going to her in the future.
My experience with the office staff and the doctor were wonderful. Everyone was friendly, and I was seen right away. I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Schultis. I would definitely recommend this place and doctor.
Crystal is the best! Very very sweet and professional. She puts your mind at ease and is extremely patient. Love her! Pure OB/Gyn is amazing. Ask for Crystal when you go!
Currently 6 months pregnant and have been coming here since I first found out I was pregnant. I am so happy with the service. Never a wait. The staff is great and the doctors are knowledgeable.
Very nice and modern office. Nice ladies at the front desk and the nurses and Doctor were thorough and didnt rush but also got in and out within 45 minutes! Thank you. Routine Pap/ check up.
She ia a kind person. Very patient and delicate. She explains things and listens to your questions. It was my first time with her. I had a womens health exam and she preformed other tests for my condition. I will see her again.
I generally really like this place. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful to me and Dr. St. Hilaire is very kind and patient. There is a bit of a wait sometimes, but overall my experience has been very positive.
Had my IUD replaced here with Dr. Yoo and it was SO much more bearable than my first experience. She was quick and took the extra time to make sure everything was in place.
It was a very pleasant experience. Dr. Sophia Wu was very thorough, and explained everything she was doing and why. I was very comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Sophia Wu
The service was good but the billing process was terrible. I had to pay out of pocket lab costs and didnt really know what tests were run. I also tried to call the clinic and the billing department 5+ times and every time they said they would call me back but they never did. So it wasnt helpful at all. I will not come back.
Front desk was accommodating and courteous. The nursing staff was knowledgeable and very professional. I came in at the end of the day so there was barely any waiting time.
Love the doctors and care they provide. Will continue going there but there are not great when it comes to sending test results or the doctor to calling you back for questions on the test results. I have called multiple times for important results with no answers or call back from the doctor. This is the only frustating thing !
Wow! My first to this place. Im really a chicken for this gyn stuff despite me being a medical professional myself. This Dr. was quick and to the point! Very nice, professional and concerned. The staff was very nice the place was very clean. I recommend this place to anyone. Definitely sticking to this place.
