Kendra (Baker) Perkins, DO

I initially rated Dr. Perkins-Baker five stars, but after my experience, I feel compelled to warn others. When I sought her help for my missing periods, she dismissed my concerns, misdiagnosed me with a condition I didn’t have, and approached my situation with judgment rather than care. Her failure to listen delayed the proper diagnosis of a hormonal imbalance, which has now led to ovarian cysts requiring surgery. If I hadn’t sought a second opinion from another OBGYN, this could have progressed to cancer.Her actions—or lack thereof—put my health at serious risk, and I felt her treatment of me was influenced by biases, possibly even my ethnicity. Women who are trying to conceive or navigating sensitive health issues deserve compassion, attention, and accurate care—not dismissiveness.Dr. Perkins-Baker left Orange County to practice in Los Angeles, a busier market, but patients deserve to know the truth: if your health and time matter to you, stay away from providers who judge rather than help. This journey is sacred, and we all deserve to be treated with respect and care.

I had a good experience with staff and doctor Baker for my prenatal care, but after that it was horrible. There was a disagreement between my insurance and Dr. Baker’s office about what they wanted to bill and what my insurance wanted to pay. I understand that this happens sometimes but it was handled very poorly by Dr. Baker’s staff. A week after I delivered they sent me a bill in the mail for $5,000 with no explanation except that my insurance wouldn’t cover my care. They sent me a follow up bill for the same amount a month later. So during the first 3 months of my maternity leave I had to spend hours and days on the phone with Dr. Baker’s office and my insurance trying to figure out what happened. I had full insurance coverage that was in-network with Dr. Baker, and I paid my deductibles and patient portion so I was very confused. They told me I had to send an appeal to my insurance when in reality, this is the responsibility of the Dr.’s office and to be handled on their end, NOT by the patient. I was told this repeatedly by my insurance, but Dr. Baker’s team turned me into a middle man and wanted me to solve the problem, balance billing me in the meantime and causing severe and undue stress to me and my family. They finally did their job and zeroed the bill in their system while they took full responsibility of the appeal on their end, but a year later around the time this was resolved by my insurance I received an odd, random email from Dr. Baker’s team saying that my insurance wasn’t paying and they wanted to collect a discounted cash amount of $3,500. When I called to inquire they said this was an automated email that wasn’t supposed to go out. Oops????!!!! Save yourself a billing nightmare and find another provider.

Dr. Baker is an amazing OB doctor. I went you a traumatic experience and she was Very thorough and had great communication through it all. She was very supportive and understanding as well. She is always on top of everything and responds to any questions I have very fast. I am very happy that I have her as my OB.

Dr. Baker is amazing. I have never had a doctor that cares this much. She is very kind and listens. I highly recommend her to anyone -actually my girlfriend has already switched insurance just to go see her shes that good.

Dr Baker is great!! She is so patient and kind. She answers all my questions, no matter how small and I never feel rushed.I highly recommend her for anyone having a baby:):)

Dr. Baker is amazing. Always made me feel reassured & great bedside manners. I moved to CA at 25 weeks pregnant & she delivered my baby about 5 weeks ago. She made me feel calm during delivery & checked up on us the day after baby was born.

Dr. Baker is very friendly, pleasant and professional. She responds to patients notes very fast (usually within a day and on weekends too). Her office staff is very efficient and assist with what you need right away over the phone. Highly recommend her.

Dr Perkins had completely exceeded my expectations in every way . She really listened to my concerns and addressed each one . She’s great at communicating and educating you about the entire process from start to finish . I am so happy I got to be with a Dr that really encourages you to let your body do what it was made to do . Having a Dr you can trust especially during such a sensitive time is EXTREMELY important . You can definitely tell this is her passion and she does it well !!

I had my first OB appointment with Dr. Baker this week and it went so much better than any other OBGYN appointment I’ve ever had. She was super friendly and was willing to answer any question. There wasn’t a long wait and I was able to see my baby’s heartbeat for the first time! I’m so happy I get to take this journey with peace of mind that I have a good doctor that will be there along the way for my pregnancy.

Dr. Baker is really wonderful. She takes her time to answer any questions I may have and makes me feel reassured. I’m happy with the service and cannot wait to have her deliver my baby.

Dr. Baker is a kind, patient, caring doctor. She listens carefully to your concerns and does not rush you. Her patients wellbeing, the one she is treating at that moment, is definitely foremost on her mind. I recommend Dr. Kendra Baker for your OBGYN needs.

Dr Perkins made my husband and I feel so much more at ease before, during & after our screening. She took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly and made excellent recommendations. I am grateful that my baby and I are under her care!

Very satisfied throughout my pregnancy care with Dr.Baker. I thought I was going to have a cesarean section towards the end of the delivery but Dr.Baker tried everything in made sure that I have a vaginal delivery which is what we wanted and it was successful. I will definitely come see Dr.Baker again for my next child.
